·Arsenal have apparently made a firm offer of £15m for Flavio Conceicao of Derpotivo La Coruna. Conceicao has a buy-out clause in his contract worth £18.9m, but Arsenal are hoping that La Coruna will accept a lesser offer.

·Vieria ain't for sale, infact according to certain news articles today, it looks as if Arsenal will be discussing a contract extension with him in the near future. Petit could be available, it looks as if barca may bid for him, and we now have edu who can play in his position. Personally I doubt the varacity of this story, I really can't imagine arsenal shelling out £15 mill on anybody, and when you take into account the wages he would want....

Personally i'm not sure I would want flavio, after his penaly winning dive in our 5-1 hammering of deportivo last season. But then then again, we would then be able to take advantage of his bazillian/spanish 'skillz'.
I don't think pires coming will necessarily have a negative effect on overs staying, wenger has reiterated on many occasions that he want's him to stay, and i'm sure a great player like overmars would be scared of a little competition....surely not, as long as wenger dosen't try and undermine his position, which i'm sure he won't. Infact Overmars may indeed see it as a positive move, since the better our squad becomes, the greated our chance of achieving thoses major honours which we so richly deserve.
Pires was quoted as saying that he would be playing on the left next season, and this would be reasonable since arsene wanted two quality players in every position. This perhaps hints that overs will stay, but then what happens to freddie if pires plays on the left, personally I would want freddie to stay, then see the schizo pires take his place. He plays with more balls, then I imagine schizo pires ever will.

"Since English football has been so fantastic to me I am delighted to stay," he said. "I enjoy my football at Arsenal and am really happy now I am a regular in the national team.
