From the official site:

Taribo West admits he is undaunted by the prospect of coming up against Michael Owen when Nigeria face England in Osaka on Wednesday.

Following two defeats in their opening two games the Super Eagles have nothing but pride to play for against an England team that requires just a draw to be sure of qualification for the next phase.

But former Derby County defender West, who last season was rumoured to be on his way to Liverpool, is confident he can keep the Reds striker quiet.

He says: "Owen can be marked out of a game. I played against him last season and he didn't score. He's very fast but no player likes to be man-marked. Coming up against him simply doesn't worry me."

Meanwhile, West's Nigerian team mate Okoronkwo has labelled Owen 'boring'. He adds: "He (Owen) will stroll around and bore you all day. He doesn't run much, is quiet for half the game, and you keep asking why the coach has kept him on the pitch. A lot of the time he does nothing."

---- now that he is on a high after the game against the Argies, this is the perfect extra motivation against the Nigerians - not that he ever need some :fero:
