Ruud Gullit (foto) adviseert Mario Been het aanbod van Feyenoord om trainer te worden af te wimpelen. De besprekingen tussen Feyenoord en de huidige NEC-coach bevinden zich in een vergevorderd stadium.

‘Bij Feyenoord is er de komende jaren niets te winnen’, zei Gullit zondag in het programma Barend en Barend van zender Het Gesprek.

Gullit was in het seizoen 2004/2005 werkzaam als oefenmeester in de Kuip. Met 62 punten eindigde Feyenoord als vierde. (MA)

According to van Nijnatten in the AD, Don Leo and Feyenoord are talking to each other but also PSV apparently have interest.

"Bij Feyenoord is er de komende jaren niets te winnen" - says more about Gullit than it does about Feyenoord, surely. If Beenhakker and Been are allowed to restructure the club it shouldn't take them long to kick start a renaissance. The potential is there.

We're talking about real backers here :shades: a golden age culminating in 2016 with the new stadium opening.

Interesting to see El-Akchaoui already being mentioned as a player Been could take along with him. Be prepared to see Leidse Tim shipped out then to some lower tier premiership club and the website propaganda machine saying that it's always been his dream to one day play abroad and that he's thankful to Feyenoord that he could make this move.

Wonder what Been'd do with losers like Hofland and Timmer.

I reckon Been would give the peasants a good kicking. I fully expect to see Timmer continue his career at De Graafschap next season. Shouldn't take Beenhakker too long to find better replacements for the ex-PSV crew.

ROTTERDAM - Feyenoord is op zoek naar geld om Leo Beenhakker naar De Kuip te halen. De krappe financiële positie is een serieus obstakel bij de rentree van 'Don Leo' in Rotterdam. Het gaat niet om een transfersom, want in het contract van Beenhakker zijn afspraken opgenomen over een tussentijds vertrek, maar om de salariskosten, waarvoor geen ruimte is op de begroting.

Feyenoord wil Beenhakker als tussenpaus aanstellen en bovendien is de gelouterde Rotterdammer kandidaat nummer één om technisch directeur te worden.

Beenhakker wil zich ondertussen volledig focussen op zijn werk als bondscoach van Polen. "Over twee weken spelen we twee belangrijke interlands en tot die tijd wil ik niks meer horen over Feyenoord.
