Tottenham prepare move for Chelsea's Robben
tribalfootball.com - March 17, 2006

Tottenham are lining up a summer swoop for Chelsea winger Arjen Robben.

The Daily Express says Robben's future at Chelsea could be in doubt as Blues boss Jose Mourinho lines up the signing of Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Ballack.

Ballack's agent has revealed the German star is "exclusively talking to Chelsea" and he could be unveiled at Stamford Bridge before the start of this summer's World Cup.

If Ballack signs, then Mourinho is likely to restructure his formation and Robben could be left out in the cold after a disappointing season for the Blues.

Spurs boss Martin Jol is a long-time admirer of his fellow countryman and will ask the Tottenham board to break the bank to sign Robben if he decides to move on to secure first-team football.

====================

ok, i think if robben is available, we gotta get him...we have good relationship with chelsea and we need a left winger (stankovic is not a true winger and kily/solari are not good enough)...if we have a chance to get him, we should get him...robben is world class...

Robben is a great player and would be a perfect solution for our left wing!

It's him or Vicente if I could choose, but if Robben is available and at a reasonable price we should get him as soon as possible!

Id definatly go for him! One of the best players in the world ryt now.. and we can get him just b4 he gets to his peak...

Our style wud suit him..maybe though he probly will go to Totenham cos he stay in the same city... and with the Dutch conection(Jol is HIGHLY RATED)he's somewhat gotten to know the English game.. Looks like Totenham hav a chance to go to europe CL..

Robben over Vicente. Really like the way he runs with his hands flapping all over the place.

They make no sense, if Ballack is going to Chelsea then surely he wouldn't be a threat to Robben, last time I checked Ballack wasn't a left winger. Very doubtful that Chelsea would be as stupid as to let him go anyways.

He's interchangable isnt he..? Besides Chelsea did say theyr in a good position to sell their players shud the need arise, as their players are of good age and their worth is still substancial...
SWP is availble still to them...

but yeh..I doubt it will happen...but if it does..WE MUST BID for him...

You got a point there. Jose wants everyone to share defensive duty while Robben seldom does his. I hope it does not happen though. :(

sorry to say Robben's defensive abilities are as good as zero... he shld play closer to drogba up front...

while, Solari, Stankovic, Kily and the mancini-never-gave-up-on CESAR. Highly doubtful that INTER would try Robben.

Yeah we should move for Robben before Chelsea come in and steal him away , like they do with most players.

Oh wait, he IS in Chelsea . . so that means he can't be stolen from us by Chelsea. That should be incentive enough for us to put up a decent bid and get him to Milan.

We should do better than that SHITE we could manage with Ballack . . that stuff just fell through.
