All three clubs (River Plate, Boca Juniors & Rosario Central) performed well this week.
Quarter-Final results of the matches played this week are as follows:

El Nacional (Ecuador) 0-0 Boca Juniors
Rosario Central 3-2 Corinthians (Brazil)
Cerro Porteno (Paraguay) 0-4 River Plate

Aimar had an incredible game for River Plate last night and scored in the first half. He dominated the pitch and was the engine behind the goals. His team mate Saviola, also performed very well and scored the fourth and last goal, while Angel scored the other two goals. Bear in mind that this was an away victory! The return legs on all the above matches will be played next week.

All three Argentinean clubs are in a good position. Boca Juniors & River Plate will play at home. Rosario Central who won 3-2 (they were leading 3-0 with only 30 mins to go) have the unenviable task of playing their match in Brazil. Still, if they snatch a draw they will be able to proceed in the tournament. Boca drew away from home, but should have no problem in confronting El Nacional, when they meet next week. A victory for Boca, will see them proceed in the tournament.

Vamos Argentinos!!

rosario has no chance in Brazil!
River can use the reserves next time and move on! Thanks to JP angel, 2 goals yesterday for river.

Boca Jrs can be in trouble facing the ecuadorians!

the 4 candidates to the semi finals lost this week: america de cali, palmeiras, corinthians, junior de barranquilla.

I think river will take la copa in 2000!

Ze,
In answering your question. The draw for the next round reads as follows:

Winner of Atlético Mineiro / Atlético Paranaense to play against Winner of Rosario Central / Corinthians

Winner of Cerro Porteño / River Plate to play against Winner of El Nacional / Boca

Winner of Atlas / Junior to play against Winner of América de Cali / América de México

Winner of Peñarol / Palmeiras to play against Winner of Nacional / Bolívar

I think that River Plate, looks very strong. I think that this could be their year (although I would much prefer Boca Juniors)I am trying to be unbiased.

Boca vs River, that would be tough... Regardless, either one is strong enough to go all the way. River,is the last Argentinean club to have won the Copa de Libertadores, that was back in 1996.
