Last week I heard Ancelotti said we are less stronger than last year because we have changed a lot.
But I don't think so:
At least we have a world-class attacking couple---Claudio+Crespo.

In the mildfield we already have Nedved and Veron, tow great playmakers. And I think there are two hot prospects for the future. Baronio will replace Almayda.Last season he played very well in Reggina. Stankovic can keep the balance between defense and offense with his great run.

We also have a great defense.Peruzzi+Nesta like our Chinese

yes I think we are stronger because except the lost of Sergio Conceicao all the transfers were positive for the team , at least now we don't have to play with an one and only atacker who was the not good enough Simone Inzaghi
and our keeper is very good now ( remember Ballota against Valencia)
So I hope that Nesta will not get injured and we will win the Scudetto and CL too

hi !

okay, maybe we are stroger than last season if we see the players that cragnotti had bought this season, but i hope it won't be like inter they so many greats players but they didn't get the title at all. we should see manchester united they have the same squad but they are the young players who has lot experience in every events. so they are more stronger in every season. I hope cragnotti won't buy too much famous players. but i like lopez he's great, peruzzi i think i don't like him i like toldo better than him.

Indeed, we are stronger now`
The problem is we have too many new players, let's count: Peruzzi, Colonesse, Pesaresi, Baronio, Lopez, Crespo. and we'll be without Almeyda and Conceicao.
Well i can say that 4 of our new players will be in the first eleven (Peruzzi, Baronio, Lopez and Crespo), but I'm pretty sure that Eriksson will handle this problem, they just need times to play together, then we'll have a great squad..

The other reason is Lazio have too many argentinians (It doesn't mean that I don't like Argentinian players, I like them though) but when they have to play for their national team, then we will have a problem.
Since we've got too many good player :) ,i can say that there's no problem for Lazio when all Argentinian players are away.

Great, and I'm looking forward to seeing Lazio play again :)

I think we are definitely stronger on paper with all these star players and hopefully if they all play really well together we will be stronger than last year on the field too. I am really looking forward to see Lopez and Baronio play. I'm not too fond of Peruzzi but he is decent.
Inter our biggest rivals? No way, they will cause problems but Milan and Roma will be our biggest rivals. Inter and Parma will be fighting each other for a cl spot again i think. However if Ronaldo and Vieri are both fit then together with Pirlo they will be a massive force and a serious contender for the scudetto.

We are much stronger then last season !!!!

I have no doubt in my mind that the changes that where made in Lazio where for the good of the team.

We have many new players but the style of play will be only be changed for the better.

Changes: The defence will stay lower then before, I don´t think that Pancaro and ***** will travel as high as they are used to. This because our attack is 150% stronger with Crespo and Lopez. Last season our midfield had all the pressure on to score, this season they can trust the attack much more.

Almeyda out <------ Simeone -------> In, if you saw the Argentine - Ecuador game then you saw how well Simeone took care of the sweeper role <--- very good defensiv and he has also said that he want´s to change his game to become a defending midfielder ( very nice header in that game ).

Conceciao is the only player I will miss but he was never a central part of our game - I really like him and he´s a great dribbler and one of the best crossers in Serie A ( I´m sure he´s top 3 in that dept ). I don´t think there will be a great difference between Conceciao and say Zenden or Nedved ( if he´ll move over to the right ).

Baronio is a superb backup and he´ll only be an asset on midfield, Baronio will be used as a defensiv playmaker and I will enjoy our 4 - 5 - 1 with Lopez - Veron - Baronio - Simeone - Nedved.

If Ancelotti should talk about changes in a team then he should adress Parma and Roma both of which have new playmakers, new attackers, new midfielders new new new. Parma will struggle most if we consider new players a reason to struggle.

Lopez - Crespo - Veron - Simeone - Sensini all played in the Argentina - Ecuador game so I´m sure that they all know each other really well !!!

Thanks for sharing my views.

This is off-topic for Svennis:

Hi, will you post a players rating for the Argentina-Ecuador game? And, better yet, ratings after the Arg-Brasil game also? Thanx !!

Yes, Lazio is stronger at least on paper. since lazio has so many new players I think it'll be tough for the team to play well together. look at Inter for the past several seasons, we had so many great players yet they didn't play together as a team. but inter has most of the team from last season intact so this year I think inter will be a big contender against Lazio

Off course anceloti is wrong.Lazio is stronger than last season and not only on paper.Lazio is not inter whose stars only play for themselves not for the club.Indeed there are some new players, but it won't take too much time to get adapted with Lazio.why let me explain
Lopez,Veron,Crespo,Simeone, and Sensini, they often play together for their national team especially nowadays. So this will be even much better than last season.Veron and Crespo were very good when they played for Parma. So i don't think Crespo and Lopez will find it hard to get adapted with Lazio.

The lost of Conceicao and Almeyda which i really regret:(,still can be solved with Stankovic and Baronio.Baronio even used to be Lazio's player,so i can say he is not a new comer in this team.

Peruzzi,i'm sure that his coming will be very usefull, coz' if he is absent then we still have great keeper Luca Marchegiani. Even so,i still hope Carini will be ours he is young and great.
So once again LAZIO IS STRONGER THAN LAST SEASON:);)

I don't want to sound pesimistic, but I think Ancelloti has a point there.
You see, I can't say that Lazio isn't stronger than last year, because, hell, just look at the probable line up the squad will have this very next season. Peruzzi, Nesta, Nedved, Zenden, Veron, Crespo, Lopez (among others). Those names say it all:D.
But on the other hand, Lazio also has a lot of players coming in and going out of the team. Now tell me if that doesn't have any itsy bitsy effect to the team's solidity.
One of the main reasons why Lazio won the championship last season was because the team was very solid. They had been through a lot for the last couple of years. That ought to mean something, and it made some kind of a special bond to them. That special bond helped them get through rough times and brought them the championship title.

Now, many players has left the team:(, and many players has come to replace them. I don't think the old and new players would grow solid in an instant, and that could be a problem. I know that the new players are professionals (definitely!), but those kind of "bonding" things are hard to achieve, even to professionals (just look what happened to Inter!)

I'm just afraid that the new squad wouldn't have the same spirit again (please God, don't let that happen!)
I think now it's all up to Eriksson. He has to have what it takes to overcome the situation (and I believe that he can handle it, he's a damn good coach for God's sake!).

Well... I'm just trying to see the whole change from different point of view. For whatever's gonna happen to Lazio, I'm still gonna support the team.

Their are so many different views on this/On paper Lazio has great strength: ANd yes they have changed practically their entire squad: But can they play together:

Can they connect from them the begining: If so Then Lazio should have no problem but in reality their are weaknesses in every team:

The only problem could be that it takes a bit of time to settle, remember 2 years ago? But there aren't that many changes. A new keeper, Zenden for Conceicao, and then the two new strikers, Lopez and Crespo. All round much stronger squad (except for the loss of Almeyda which we will regret.)
Plus it's good to see some Italian players being bought, Baronio, Pesaresi, Colonnese, and then Fiore and Giannicheda for next season.
