We all have painful memories of the end of Stephen Hughes' Arsenal career, and anyone who knows of his nightmare Watford season will have cringed at such a waste of great talent.

Seeing as a total of zero of our two Youth Cup winning sides has broken into the first team, is anyone else just a little concerned that Pennant, Aliadiere, Halls et al may be set to follow Hughesy and Paolo Vernazza up the road to nowhere?

Hall was not wasted at Colchester he played every match and it was his choice to leave Colchester from his loan spell and return to Arsenal :D

thats just the way theya re these days! the way football is these days! if a kid is not good enough then he goes. Sometimes the club wants to keep them but the players themselves think they should be playing 1st team football somewhere..

if they are not good enought o dispose of Henry, bergkamp or another proven star int he lineup then they shouldnt be.... Wenger still has to play his best side..

all clubs lose young players....

The biggest case has got to be Adrian Clarke ... if I remember correctly he was very very highly rated under Rioch before Wenger arrived as a super young right winger.

Wenger came in with his French policy and an injury at the wrong time saw him being loaned out to a first division side that was relegated blah blah blah.

Long story short he is now clogging around in non-league football ... he simply lost the stomach for pro-football after being treated like trash basically. Different circumstances wouldve seen him be a star.
