Is there a rumour that this could happen? I'd be over the moon for him, he's a great guy who deserves a break like this.

Just be aware that his injury situation was very serious, and he's been through a hell of a lot. Even though physically he's better, mentally he's not in the right place and won't be until he can get some months of football under his belt. I think you are overrating Appiah a little tbh. Appiah is your typical defensive midfielder, hardworking and loves to get stuck in but really signing him would be a waste as he isn't up to the standard. Dacourt may not be as quick as he used to be but he is tactically and defensively better then Appiah.

Appiah is not a defensive midfielder, let alone a typical one
