I assume this is being featured fairly prominently on the Italian news but here it is for everyone yet to see it.

Bari boss Antonio Conte was the victim of a violent attack from a group of Lecce fans yesterday.

The former Juventus midfielder hails from Lecce but he made the controversial decision to work for their bitter local rivals.

Conte spent Sunday afternoon on a beach near Lecce and played a game of five-a-side football but a group of thugs gathered and attacked him.

After Conte had been punched in the face several times, a number of witnesses and bystanders gathered and a few people jumped in to defend him.

The assailants fled but Conte still sustained a number of minor injuries and the attack is a blow to authorities, who had pledged to take a zero tolerance approach to football-related violence just days earlier.

The police are currently investigating the incident and are hoping to make arrests shortly.
Pretty shocking behaviour. Another kick in the teeth for Italian football in general.
