Philippe Mexes could become the second Auxerre player to join Juventus during the summer.

Reports yesterday suggested that Olivier Kapo had agreed a four-year deal with the club and his French international teammate could now be about to follow him.

Juventus are set to rejuvenate their ageing defence at the end of this term and Mexes may be a possible addition.

The 21-year-old is highly rated in the European game and has already been linked with the likes of Man Utd, Roma and Inter.

Speculation suggests that Mexes has an agreement with Auxerre that will allow him to leave at the end of this campaign.

The Bianconeri defence has struggled badly this term and the likes of Lilian Thuram, Ciro Ferrara and Paolo Montero – all over 30 – may not feature in next season’s squad.

That has seen the club associated with a host of new stoppers who they could target in the near future.

The Parma duo of Matteo Ferrari and Daniele Bonera have been strongly associated and they are expected to arrive.

Lazio’s Jaap Stam is also a target even if the Dutchman is unlikely to join given the fact that Milan and Inter are leading the chase for him.

Mexes would never want to play in Serie Snore for some d-grade outfit decked out in pink, it'd clash with the colour of his hair band.

He'd always said it was his dream to win the Inter-toto with Liverpool, sit back down in your sofa and jump into fountains little man.

Politician: You obviously paid too much attention to Doc_Rule's gibberish, ;) Mexès has actually always explicitly reiterated his wish to join a league where his art would be fully valorized... that means Serie Snore (Juventus, to be more precise) and not EPLepsy.

The article is bogus admittedly, but Mexès could be on his way just the same.
