How on earth have they done it?

When you see PSV embarrassing themselves and blaming it on not being able to be competitive with the sources they have, you have Anorthosis Famagusta qualifying for the next round of the CL with virtually peanuts in a group too consisting of Werder Bremen, Inter and Panathinaikos.

I remember Spurs playing Famagusta 2 seasons ago and we beat them comfortably, so what has happened?

Have they improved so much or is it a case of the sides in the group thinking Famagusta is a pub side and coming stuck ?

Whatever happens they can be proud of their contribution. Still have last matchday with something to play for. They are quick on counter attacks. Just concede too many. Obviously have come a long way. Blew it tonight though.

It indeed is an interesting group with pana doing it in good style last night. Inter should have got 1 point at least but Pana showed composure and played the ball on the ground.

Famagusta has done sopmething quite special so far though!

There are no miracles in football. Since you beat them they signed Dellas, Savio, Sosin, Skopelitis from Portsmouth and few more international players. They've spent 15m Euros in the last two years. And great management from Ketsbaia centred on fast counter attacks.

What happened is that Spurs are now shit.

Actually this year almost all outsiders/newcomers have done well in CL and by no means have they been pushovers. Anorthosis has robbed points and before the final round they are still very much in competition. Cluj has shown good football and defeated Roma; BATE has been strong at home drawing against Juventus and Zenit. Aalborg managed to draw with Villarreal and beat Celtic.

The newcomers this season have been strong and have made the experienced and big clubs of europe work for every point. I applaud this years CL newcomers for good performances and for showing they deserve to be in this competition.:musik:

They are a great unit with little quality but still seem to pull results. They are built on quality veterans mixed in with hard working Cyrpiots.

They done very well but they have done so well due to the poor showing of Werder and PSV.
