Preview:

Burkina Faso will be looking for their first win of the tournament as they take on Mali on Friday.

Yet the Stallions' goalless draw in their first game against Cup of Nations favourites Senegal has given the team great confidence.

"It's a very positive feeling and a result which promises well for the rest of the tournament," said midfielder Amadou Toure.

Yet the Burkinabe will have to improve in attack if they are to have a chance of going beyond the first round for only the second time in their history.

Meanwhile, Mali are looking to book a place in the semi-finals with victory against their neighbours.

The Eagles are expected to continue with Frederic Kanoute and Mohamed Sissoko, who both changed their allegiances to Mali from France recently, up front.

Yet Kanoute, who scored twice against Kenya in a 3-1 win, is anticipating a tough game against the hard-tackling Stallions.

"Burkina are well-organised and it's going to be very hard to find a way through," Kanoute said.

"Physically, they're very strong and we've been impressed by what we've seen of them."

FT: Burkina Faso 1 Mali 3

Mali reaches the quarterfinals. After being 2 goals down at halftime, Burkina Faso came back early in the 2nd half and they had some good chances, the best oppurtunity was Dagano's header from close rage, but they wasted them all. Against the run of play, Mali scored and game was over.

Kanoute seems to be taking the tournament by storm :star: hopefully he'll carry back the form once he returns to London!
