Sorry to sound like a n00b - but I didn't really get the theme. :(

Can you post a few examples, or share links for "inspiration", please? :)

I could take pic for my cat taking a piss in a hole and then bury over it and then take a pic of someone taking a piss and flushing.

Am I close enough? :hmm:

Could be anything, gents.

Think something that doesn't belong in the environment it's in, maybe a rose growing in a concrete jungle (cliched example, think along the same lines but beyond it).

Or as Bonita often encourages, a story made up of several pictures. You might find a great picture you took X years ago, and go to take the same picture from the exact same spot again, and highlight the change between the two pics. You might want to recreate in your adulthood a lovely picture of yourself from when you were an infant.

You might want to highlight the contrast between say, a beautiful, natural landscape and a dark storm coming over it (if you're lucky enough to catch it).

You could even share a few pictures of your cat (for you, decoys), as a kitten, as an adult and as a pensioner.

Bonita makes these things very vague which is why I want to slap her. But for the artsy types, it opens up a million doors to endless possibilities, and at the end of the day that's really what these contests are about - creativity.

Woah !! Livin' advertisement for the contest  thank you Zico.

Dear forumers, I am well aware that you will need to have a second (or more) photo as reference so, yes, go ahead with whatever you can to express yourself. *

( ;) * The only limitations are those already listed in the XT posting guidelines.)

You can submit up to 3 sets of photographs. Each set consists of 1 main picture plus additional support pictures if needed.

The only thing we ask is that you put each set in 1 single post. The gallery designer and the vote counter thank you :)

Personally I consider it a creative challenge to try and capture the theme of the contest in a single picture. I think it's quite possible.

Imagine a homeless person and a rich man sitting next to each other on a park bench. They are a world apart. Take a picture of that and you're set for the contest. :)

Picture number one:

In list, I call these emptiest, empty, and full. And it shows how with the right timing even the busiest of places can be completely empty.

I call this one "calm before the storm":

It depicts a completely empty Real Madrid stadium, where you could hear a pin drop. It is a contrast to the full Madrid stadium where you can't hear yourself think. Not a single soul here, it is interesting to see something this grandiose, empty. Not a single person was there, just me. One of my favorite days of living:

Entry number two: A completely empty street in Central London, no one could be heard. This photo was taken during the Olympics:

Compared with the lively streets of London before the Olympics, it's interesting to see such a huge contrast:

This is my first ever time doing this so I hope I do well

Hey Heike :) Besides the examples given above by Boyo and Zico 10, another approach to this contest is abstract photography. You can show us how an image is affected by the time of day, creating the contrast between light and darkness.
