It would be interesting to see all the African scoring in European leagues week in and week out ... so I'll set things off:

Ligue 1

FC Nantes 1-3 Olympique Lyon:
-Nourdin Boukhari (Morocco) scored his first goal for Nantes since joining from AJAX in the summer
-Karim Benzema (Algeria/France) scored for Lyon

Ligue 2

Bastia 1-0 Reims:
-Fredric Mendy (Senegal) scored the only goal of the game

Brest 2-2 Libourne/Saint-Seurin:
-Jawad El Hajri (Morocco) scored his second goal of the season
-Papa Sarr (Brest) scored his first

Chateauroux 2-2 Le Havre:
-Alharbi El Jadeyaoui (Morocco) scored his second goal of the season

FC Metz 3-0 Istres:
-Babacarr Gueye (Senegal) scored his first of the season
-Papis Cisse (Senegal) had a brace, his first two goals of the season

Guingamp 1-1 RC Lens:
-Seid Khiter (Algeria) scored his second goal of the season

The rest of Ligue 1 plays tomorrow so there should be enough African goals!

Good idea for a thread. Maybe we could make this a thread for everything about Africans across Europe. Then the thread title needs to be changed, but the FM's aren't to be seen.

Rennes 1-2 Lille
-Abdulkader Keita (Ivory Coast) scored the second goal for Lille

Nancy 1-0 Monaco
-Moncef Zerka (Morocco) scored the only goal of the game

Lens 1-0 Troyes
-Aruna Dindane (Ivory Coast) scored the only goal of the game

PSG 2-3 Lorient
-Rafik Saifi (Algeria) scored the winning goal of the game

Bordeaux 2-0 Toulouse
-Marouane Chamakh (Morocco) scored the first goal of the game

Saint Etienne 1-2 Sochaux

Tomorrow Marseille will host newly promoted Sedan. Africans players that will probably start the game (according to France Football):

Marseille - Niang (Senegal), Beye (Senegal), Oruma (Nigeria) or Nasri (France/Algeria), Taiwo (Nigeria),

Sedan - Boutabout (Algeria), Belhadj (Algeria), maybe Mokake (Cameroon)

Pretty surprising to see actually how many African goals are being scored in one matchday of one league alone. Africans are the dominant foreign legion in Ligue 1 for years, but to see the cold facts is pretty cool actually. :)

I also think that Africans fit the best in Ligue 1. The French school of football goes well with the African flair and technique. The French league is open, attacking and not dominantly physical and therefore joyful to watch.

I think the reason the French league is the best fit is because its one of the weaker leagues. I mean let's be honest, most of these Africans wouldn't cut it in England, Italy, Spain or Germany. Just my humble opinion.

PS. Out of the 9 African goals scored in Ligue 1 this weekend: 3 were Ivorian, 3 were Moroccan and 3 were Algerian. Definitely surprising. No Senegalese, Nigerian or Cameroonian goals. Moroccans and Algerians, as well, aren't known for their scoring ability.

I beg to differ. The French league is imo on par with the German and the two are just below the big 3. The French league might not have the same amount of top names, but the level of play is very high in France if you ask me. A lot of technical play, more open games than other leagues imo. Of course someone who makes it in France, does not necessarily have to be good enough to make it in Italy, but to call France one of the weaker leagues goes too far for me.

Well consider the number of players that move from Ligue 1 to the EPL and fail miserably. Guys that are can't miss stars in France and then can barely crack the starting line up in England. I know its still a quality league but I think the gap between the top 3 (England, Spain and Italy) is getting wider now.

Obiorah at Niort? I didn't even know that. :)

Strange to see Boka still at Strasbourg btw, I expected him to move after the relegation.

Hamburg is interested in him according to todays local press.
I'm wondering a little that no one signed him yet. Left backs are always pretty much in demand and Boka is available for around/under 3 mio, at least this is what the local press says.
Why did no one sign him yet, anything wrong with the player ?
