Parma may swoop for mooted target

Boro look set to lose out to Serie A outfit Parma if they do follow up with a reported £3million bid for Italian defender Daniele Adani.

The highly-rated 27-year-old Fiorentina player, who is comfortable in central defence or at right-back, has been linked with a move to The Riverside in recent weeks.

However, Parma have earmarked him as a replacement for Italy international centre-back Fabio Cannavaro, who looks certain to quit the club this summer.

Adani himself has three caps to his name, but Fiorentina are desperate to cash in on one of their prize assets after relegation to Serie B left the club in administration.

Boro's reported interest in the player should be treated with some caution given that their defence was one of the strongest and most promising areas of the team last season and is not in desperate need of strengthening.

But, given the fact Adani can operate at right-back, it could be a hint that Steve McClaren may be wanting to provide some competition for Scotland international Robbie Stockdale next season.

I found this on Yahoo-sports.com.

No offence mate, but these about Adani have been posted many times ;)
I think £3m is nothing and if Canna stays we should still buy him.
