http://www.gazzetta.it/gazzetta/sport/calcio/squadre/parma1.htm

See this picture.I know its quite bad but you can still understand.

So we have:

???-????-Thuram-Buffon-Baggio-Ze Maria
Fiore-Couto-Cannavaro-?????-Adailton

I was just wondering who is the first guy on the upper stage.I think the second is Milanese and the one among Canna and Adailton is a familiar face (who is he?) but the first guy who looks like a Scandinavian doesnt bring anything to my mind.He looks like Gasgonhe but I know he has never played for us...

Any help?

I dont know, whenever I see a hairy goallie with a Parma shirt it looks like Buffon. However, the guy in the picture is Luca Bucci. You are right :)

No,Sensini was blonder and fatter. Its Adailton.

Crippa had shaved head? could be Blomqvist...

Actually that team never played particulary many games. Pedros, Orldandini, Maniero and Giunti never started for us on a regular basis. Ze Maria was closer but still, he had to fight with Mussi for his place.

I'll try to take our great 96/97 team back to life... :) We played a 4-4-2 with Ancelotti.

___________Chiesa____Crespo____________

_Crippa_____Sensini___Baggio_____Stanic*_

_Benarrivo__Cannavaro__Thuram____Mussi___

________________Buffon_________________

* Stanic joined us in the middle of the season. We were in the relegation zone far into the season but with Stanic our fortunes turned to the better. He sealed our 1-0 game against Milan at San Siro with a superb header from a right corner. I don't remember who took the corner but it was probably Chiesa.

This team managed to challange Juve for lo Scudetto up until the very last games of the season. I think it's safe to say that we lacked some creativity in midfield... :) We didn't exactly play attacking calcio. We won MANY games 1-0, just like Juve are now. That's the trademark of Ancelotti...

During this season Crespo was not very popular at Tardini. In fact, they booed him. Chiesa was our main man in attack and major star together with Dino. This season meant the breakthrough for Cannavaro and Thuram. In fact, Thuram have never been better than during this season, his debut in Parma.

Oh, those were the days... *sigh*

Gialloblu you are right at everything.BUT I'm 100% sure the guy among Canna and Adailton is not Reynald Pedros.Pedros had long hair when he joined us from Nantes and when he cut his hair he painted them blonde. This guy is not Pedros.

Verdi, Strada was a regular as left midfielder. Crippa played a lot, but only when Strada and Stanic couldn´t play.
The corner to Stanic was from Ze Maria who btw played more than Mussi.
It really can´t be anyone else than Pedros amo. I think he had it short and black for a while.

You are totally right that Thuram has never been better than 96/97. He and Cannavaro was deadly.
But I think this is during the pre-season 1997 since Orlandini, Maniero, Giunti and Adailton came during the summer 97.

Mussi and Massimo "hard bastard" Crippa were waay cooler though... :)

My memory fails me here but didn't Strada join us midseason as well? Brolin came back and had some less than brilliant games on the right wing too. He played forward in one game as well, something he hadn't done since 94... But then again, where should Ancelotti have played him? He wanted two defensive midfielders in the center (Sensini and Baggio) and there was no place for a mezza punta...

Imagine if a coach showed up now and said "I want Sensini and Dino Baggio as my central midfield duo".Everyone would think he was crazy, but at time they were so unbelievably good.Especially Dino.

What was our line up when we had Couto,Asprilla and Stoickhov?

Strada didn´t come halfway through the season. He foolowed Ancelotti from Reggiana in 96.

The team from the mid 90´s was this I think:

__________________Bucci(before that Ballotta)_________
___________________Sensini(Grun)______________________
_________Couto_____________________Appoloni___________
Benarrivo________________________________Di Chiara____

_____Brolin______Dino_______Brambilla(played a lot 95/96)

_______________Zola___________Stoichov or Asprilla____

Melli played a lot as well

Grun was GREAT BTW! Stoichkov only played for us one season, which was more than enough... :( Melli was da Man in attack!

The Great Belgian! Grun was perfect.

Melli was crap but he would just not stop scoring.Asprilla was also great back then.We should have never loan him to Newcastle...:(

Stoickhov was so bad with Parma.Giallobul, you forgot Zola I think...But I think we used Couto as a defencive midfielder.
