Embid might be out for another season.

The Tank 3: Tankstruction
Hard to say, this Embiid rumor might just be a smokescreen to draft OK4 and get more value out of him in a trade. Embiid has apparently practiced and had great workouts for many months now, nothing stops him from playing basketball. And this health update was very vague and timed strangely just before the draft...and they said they'll get clearer info on Embiid soon after the draft. He's not injured and nothing says he needs surgery...

“As part of the conservative approach focused on the long-term health, recovery and care of Joel, we have been closely monitoring his progress, regularly evaluating his status and adjusting our plans accordingly.

“Recently, Joel and Sixers personnel traveled to Los Angeles for a series of routine exams with a number of physicians who have been actively involved throughout this process. During his visit with Dr. Richard Ferkel, a standard CT scan on Joel’s right foot revealed less healing than anticipated at this point.

“Our priority remains providing Joel with every opportunity to ensure he has a long and successful NBA career, and as such, these findings cause us to pause and reassess his current activities. Together with Joel and his representatives, we will continue to consult with the experienced team of doctors who have been an integral part of his evaluations, while also engaging in dialogue with a broader set of experts and specialists.

“Discussions regarding the appropriate next steps are currently ongoing and we will share an update once it becomes available.”
like really, this might mean he's not 100% but 95% where he's supposed to be in terms of healing, according to some doctor's evaluation. And the reason why Philly makes so much noise about it is to draft another big man and trade him for value. Or maybe just draft Porzingis for keeps and think how to sell it for the fanbase (although this I don't believe as they're eating out of Hinkie's palm already, he's given them hope).

so they say Embiid is out for the season with bone graft surgery being performed on his foot.

this is bad...this would suck if two biggest center prospects of the last 10 years both have to retire at the very beginning of their pro career.

Man the 76'ers are a real live example, of shootings ones foot, pun intended

I was envious last draft and this one, but seeing how their Embiid can't even play a single minute,

Sam Hinkie is one con artist, has all of Philadelphia duped,

"trust in the process" :howler:

Embiid had by far the greatest potential among the guys in the draft though. The only reason why he dropped to 76rs were the medical concerns so it was a calculated risk they took.

Too early to write him off anyway. Ilgauskas missed 3 of his first 4 NBA seasons with similar foot problems and later became a 2x All Star.

So the 76rs have tied the NBA record for the worst start ever with 0-18. And they broke the record of most consecutive losses (set by themselves a few season ago) with 28.

can they keep the streak alive on Tuesday when the Lakers come to town? vs Kobe it might not be easy...

I'm waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel here. They have actually been close in a few games lately but have no closer to go to in the 4th.

Yeah they suck and are an abomination. But that Ben Simmons though seems worth it. All the rumors seems to suggest that Embiid is a wash which would be a huge setback. But to come out of it with Noel, Saric, Okafor and Simmons/top prospect they could look pretty good a couple of years down the line if they add some actual NBA players around these guys.

tonight they'll battle it out with the Lakers for the title of the worst team in NBA...it won't be easy to lose to the Lakers when Kobe has like 25 shots again...but who knows, this 76rs team might do it.

Battle of the tanks and Philly got their first win of the season thanks to Kobe the tank commander. This is the worst Lakers team I have seen in my lifetime, and it's not funny.

I would actually be surprised if that's alll he got off with. I can see some major litigation coming his way, he knocked that second guy out cold.

Don't mess with Jah.

Just read his 13 page "resignation letter."

He was talking about iphones, some New Zealandian (sp?) bird and Abraham Lincoln. You could easily mistake this letter for a national geographic article.
