Allthough the season hasn't ended yet. I was just playing around with some names and came to a list of 50 players based in Europe. They're not all put into perfect rank so please let me know what you think of the list, especially if you think I've left out some important players.I'd also like to add that the players are not only added onto the list because of their talent and skill, but also because of what they've added to their team this year(so how valuable they have been thi year). That's why I have decided not to add Raul, Ballack and Beckham for instance.

Oh and please if you disagree with a plyer being or not being in the list, please point out a replacement or a player that should be taken out of the list. There are also a few players that I'm not too sure about myself....

I think Shearer deserves a mention. He has scored loads for Newcastle this season; without him they wouldn't be as high as they are now IMO.

What is the category of being an MVP??? Being the most important player to the club??? Or just performing superbly??? One way or another, Ronaldinho definitely deserves to be in the top 3. Barca without Ronaldinho will be battling for survival in the La Liga. :D

Steven Gerrard is a glaring miss ;)
Being MVP of a team who have a crap season is no achievement. -Doc_Rule

Having Buffon and Nedved on that list is an aberration. They both had an horrendous season... Only Maresca was a bit of valuable for Juve this season really.

Beckham, Rothen, Juninho, Maniche, Touré and Cassano should be there IMO.

Have you seen Barça lately.

Ronaldinho is a god but we're playing stellar football and it takes 10 players to do this

Barça's passing game is phenomenal right now and it can only be compared to Arsenal's

Martin Retov and Thomas Kahlenberg on Brøndby's midfield. Besides their obvious value to the team, they are both great prospects - 23 years old and 20 years old respectively.

Two other important players for Brøndby are undoubtedly the two central defenders, Per Nielsen and Andreas Jakobsson.

I have to say Shaun Wright-Phillips has single-handedly kept Man City up this season. 10 goals and played on the left, right and centre of midfield as well as wing back and right back. His energy has been the driving force, and when hes been on form, he lifts the whole team. Maybe a candidate for the captaincy as he is our most influential player?

Also David James' wondershows throughout March and April also were majorly important, and who can ignore 24 goals for Nicolas Anelka?

It appears some people don't value the the contribution of players for lesser teams. Some players can single-handedly drag players out of relegation fights. One example is Stead at blackburn who has rescued them with his goals. Most people's lists contain only players from the top clubs.
