A bit late with this, but this is a thread to track the entire campaign from the first qualifier (which was in Timor-Leste on March 12 of this year) to the final on the 15th of July in Moscow in three years' time.

All 208 FIFA member associations are registered for the qualifiers, which is a first in World Cup history. Not all will compete though, like for example Zimbabwe and Indonesia who have been expelled by FIFA and removed from the process.

So this is a thread to keep a track of the timeline on the road to crowning a new world champion in Russia 2018. Whenever a team is eliminated, they'll be added to the list as will the date that the elimination occurred on.

I'll do my best to update the OP every time that happens as soon as possible, but feel free to post an elimination in the thread for me to add later on if you notice one before I do. And remember, only add nations when they have been mathematically eliminated and not before it is made official. Just as an FYI. ;)

So let's get the show on the road!

#208 - Mongolia - March 17, 2015
#207 - Nepal - March 17, 2015
#206 - Sri Lanka - March 17, 2015
#205 - Macau - March 17, 2015
#204 - Brunei - March 17, 2015
#203 - Pakistan - March 23, 2015
#202 - U.S. Virgin Islands - March 26, 2015
#201 - Turks and Caicos Islands - March 26, 2015
#200 - Bahamas - March 29, 2015
#199 - British Virgin Islands - March 29, 2015
#198 - Anguilla - March 29, 2015
#197 - Cayman Islands - March 29, 2015
#196 - Montserrat - March 31, 2015
#195 - Indonesia - June 3, 2015 *Disqualified by FIFA as a punishment for their suspension, excluded from qualifers
#194 - Cuba - June 14, 2015
#193 - Dominican Republic - June 14, 2015
#192 - Saint Lucia - June 14, 2015
#191 - Guyana - June 14, 2015
#190 - Bermuda - June 15, 2015
#189 - Suriname - June 16, 2015
#188 - Puerto Rico - June 16, 2015
#187 - Dominica - June 16, 2015
#186 - Saint Kitts and Nevis - June 16, 2015
#185 - Barbados - June 29, 2015 *Disqualified for fielding an ineligible player against Aruba in the second leg of the second round, lost the game 3-0 and 3-2 on the aggregate overall as a result

Zimbabwe weren't added to the list despite being expelled by FIFA on March 12, 2015, because they're still in the process of appealing the decision and could yet overturn it to take part in the qualifiers. If lost, they will be added to the list later on at some point when a decision is made by FIFA regarding the matter.

208 teams started the campaign, only 1 will be left come the end of the tournament in July 2018. This is the official elimination timeline thread for Russia 2018!

Removed Aruba and added Barbados at #185 with them getting disqualified for fielding an ineligible player in the last round.

No final decision made on Zimbabwe yet afaik, so won't add them to the list yet but the draw for the African qualifiers is in a few weeks so if they're not there, they're surely out for good.

Two losses to open OFC qualifying and they are out of the running. Tomorrow the next two eliminations will take place with only one team from the OFC preliminary round making it to the next stage

#177 - Curacao

real busy day today with Asian qualifiers continuing and the 2nd round of African qualifiers ending

#145 - Guam
#144 - Chinese Taipei
#143 - Bahrain
#142 - Myanmar
#141 - Singapore
#140 - Turkmenistan
#139 - Rwanda
#138 - Niger
#137 - Ethiopia
#136 - Comoros
#135 - Swaziland
#134 - Philippines
#133 - Chad
#132 - Liberia
#131 - Mauritania
#130 - Angola
#129 - Benin
#128 - Tanzania
#127 - Madagascar
#126 - Botswana
#125 - Kenya

So at the end of 2015 there are 125 nations still alive for World Cup spots, that's just about 60%. Of the names above no real surprises however the biggest dip was Ethiopia, who in 2014 qualifying made the final round of African qualifying and now are already out. 2006 participants Angola and Togo are also already out

Only two teams eliminated today as the Asian portion of qualifying is completed until Tuesday

#124 - Kyrgyzstan
#123 - Palestine

Situation in Group G is yet to be decided with Kuwait, currently in 2nd place, under FIFA ban. The FIFA disciplinary committee will likely force them to forfeit as many as three matches so they are likely eliminated, but not officially yet. The second place team in this group will unfortunately be determined by suits and not with results on the field

Asian qualifying is complete for this stage, most notable eliminations are North Korea who have now failed to make the final stage of Asian qualifying two cycles in a row and Jordan who went from the intercontinental playoff in the 2014 qualifying to early elimination. Also an elimination in CONCACAF

#122 - Lebanon
#121 - Hong Kong
#120 - Vietnam
#119 - Jordan
#118 - Oman
#117 - North Korea
#116 - Kuwait (under FIFA suspension and likely will have to forfeit their March fixtures)
#115 - St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Next set of eliminations will be taking place in the summer when OFC kicks off their joint Confederations Cup/World Cup qualifying

You could use special characters for Kosovo and Gibraltar, so that you don't have to edit the whole thread.
Not like they gonna qualify to Russia anyway.
