I though it would be a good idea to discuss trades, signings, Summer League Games etc all during the off-season in one thread.

To start, where do you guys think D-Will will go.. I say he stays with Brooklyn. He might go to his hometown of Dallas, but I just do not see that happening... Also, we will have to wait and see what happens with Dwight Howard, will he go to Brooklyn, LA, another NBA team, or will he stay in Orlando with the Magic.. And finally, Bosnian PF Mirza Teletović has officially signed with the Brooklyn Nets for three years and 15 million dollars. I can not wait to attend his game(s) in Sacramento... :D

i expect deron to stay in brooklyn aswell, and the lakers to trade for D12.

i think LA will then move Pau for some younger and cheaper bits, but it can't be something THAT EXCITING otherwise

as expected

Deron Williams has decided to re-sign with the Brooklyn Nets.

Williams also considered signing with the Dallas Mavericks

Williams announced the news via Twitter.

The contract will be for approximately $98 million over five years. Williams could have instead signed with the Mavericks for $75 million over four seasons.

I am glad Nash didnt come to Miami, I wasnt going to support him.Worst ever MVP winner.

Lakers wont get anywhere. Kobrick, and 39 year old nash come playoffs loool...

i can understand the kobe hate, but such hatred for nash? lol.

and why wouldn't you support him if he came to your team? i probably shouldn't be surprised cause you might never support the heat again, if lebron happened to leave for another team.

and that 38 year old happens to be the second leading assist maker in the nba last season, averaging only 1 less assist than the league leading rajon rondo. not to mention nash is a walking double double every single game.

Lakers wont get anywhere. Kobrick, and 39 year old nash come playoffs loool.
yeah and you conveniently forgot the possible others

which is very realistic at this point, matter of just flipping bynum for howard. either that or just maintaining bynum, which isn't that less of a downgrade.

now how can you say they won't get anywhere, you sound like they were eaten alive by OKC. the dudes lost by extremely negligible margins, to the point where the lakers could've easily been leading 3-1 themselves. now adding nash is big plus, and only god knows how much the lakers will improve with adding the best center in the league.

Next year Steve Nash is 39 come playoffs, Koberick 34, Gasol 32..
You might as well call Magic Jhonson out of retirment.I wish you were in the east, so that we gave you some trashing in the playoffs.

Hehehehe

Stupid deal for Lakers.
Even with Nash, they have no chance of competing with OKC, Miami or other younger and more athletic teams.

Nash is someone who can put up double digit assist figures night-in, night-out. Expect Kobe, Bynum, Gasol (provided the latter 2 remain) to have better FG% next season with Nash setting up good looks for them. Also Nash is a pass-first PG so he's not likely to take shots away from those 3. It all depends on Mike Brown handing over the keys to the offense to Nash and burn his playbook of isolation plays for Kobe. In Darius Morris, the Lakers have a young PG with potential of becoming a starter and with Nash onboard he now has the best mentor to learn how to run effective PnR plays.

Despite the criticisms of Kobe being a ballhog, I believe he will let Nash handle the ball and run the offense since Nash is a player he respects and also the first allstar PG he has played with (saved for the one season with Gary Payton) in his career. I didn't count Van Exel cause his stint as a Laker was at a time when Kobe was still a bench player.

Nash is a defensive liability but in reality all top PGs burn each other on offense and no top-tier PG could guard another top-tier PG to the extent of shutting them down completely. Plus Mike Brown is a defensive coach so he'll tweak his defensive plays to make up for Nash's shortcomings.

My only issue on this deal is Nash's contract does not come cheap given the Lakers are looking to dump salary to free up cap space and to pay lesser penalty on luxury taxes. It'll be interesting to see if Kobe will let Nash take technical FTs since Nash is an ATM from the charity stripe.

Rockets agree with Jeremy Lin to a 28.8 million contract for 4 years.

4th year is a team option:)howler:) so this is basically less then 20 mil for 3 years, around 6.5 mil per year - AND if Lin dissapoints then we can easily move his 9 mil expiring 3rd year and not even reach the luxury tax :dielaugh:

LIN LIN SITUATION. thank you Houston, you absolute wank of a franchise.. looking forward to your book :

"How we turned Dwight, Dragic, Lowry and Lin into Aaron Brooks and 54 Power Forwards", by Daryl Morey.

Brandon Roy (without knees) agrees to a 2-yr $10M deal with Minnesota. If his knees hold up (BIG IF), then it would be a steal for Minny. Also Lakers are interested in shipping Gasol to Minny for Derrick Williams and Beasley (S&T). Make it happen Mitch :hopeful:

You're right, just read that Beasley has agreed to move to Phoenix. $18M for 3 years is a bargain for someone like Beasley. So if Pau is gonna be moved, Atlanta looks to be the more likely destination for Josh Smith. And Lakers are reportedly in negotiations with Orlando for a trade between Bynum and Howard now.

I really like the new Minnesota team:

Rubio
Roy - Batum
Love - Pekovic

It's funny seeing Raptors draft Terrance Ross in expectation of signing Nash and paying Landry Fields ridiculous money to prevent NY from signing Nash, seriously hilariously bad.

I want two things now. Roy hibbert to move to the west, and RAY Allen joins the heat.

Weaken the celtics, weaken the pacers..and with no rose weaken the bulls too for next year. That were the top four teams in east along with miami last year.
