First match, away to Ankaragucu. This has to be a match where Aragones gives some of the normal 11 a rest, and starts to build up some of the depth in the squad. If this works like it did for Zico 2 years ago, playing the youngsters could bring in some enthusiasm for the rest of the squad.

I'd like to see this lineup:

Ali Bilgin - Can(?) - Yasin - Vederson
Burak - Moldonado - Emre - Gurhan
Deivid - - - - - - - -

Can is pointless, because he has a very doubtful future. But with Onder hurt and Gokhan Gonul still needing some rest to fully recover from a foot injury, he may have to play. I think Emre is back in full training, same with Tumer. It might be nice to see Tumer get some minutes as there needs to be a CAM option to Alex, especially a Turkish option to avoid foreigner limit issues...

The only good thing that comes from this win is that it allows Fenerbahce to play the youngsters/reserves in the next cup match

Anyone know what the squad might be? Will the new two be getting some playing time?

It is a cup match, but this match is against Bursaspor, so I would really be suprised. If Aragones was brave enough to play a full reserve side, I'd love to see:

That would give Semih some match time (I think he's recovered from his surgery?) and would give Aragones an indication of what else he'll have besides the 'standard' 11 going into the TS match.

EsEs are going to get the first goal at this pace...Fenerbahce's FIRST TEAM is chasing all over the field and look a bit lost.

I can see why Aragones would want to play the first team in this match, but why didn't he play reserves in the match at Tokatspor? Me thinks he was "asked" by the directors to play the stars since everything about that match seemed to be a promotional tour for Fenerbahce :rollani:

Technically the right call, but a bit harsh considering they accidentally touched, causing Gokhan's heels to click together...

Deniz on for Selcuk in the 29th minute. Did Selcuk get hurt?

See give Deniz confidence and he makes Selcuk look like an absolute clown. He's everywhere, tackling, moving up, helping the full backs etc

Deniz has that short, choppy running style. It looks a bit wierd, but it seems to let someone of his size cut and change direction effectively.

I'm glad he's getting some time, and now that he's the 2nd choice CDM, the club should let Maldonado go ASAP...no need to waste his time any further....

Very true, especially since the wide shots show the stadium 80% empty, except in the 'corporate' seats in the Fenerium stand...and the noise doesn't come from there anyways...

I wonder if they just turned up the crowd microphones...

its just constant though thats the thing, were usually loud for like 10 minutes and then off for like10-15 and then on again, know what i mean?

Totally. The last 5 minutes especially has been as loud as GS matches. I wonder why the singers came out tonight?

I could get used to the lineup that was out there until Edu was taken off, but put the older Volkan in:

I don't even care if that means Fenerbahce drop out of the Turkish Cup. It's time to see what Fenerbahce have bought and have on the bench so the management can make some decisions for next season! :groan:
..and of course play Semih to keep proving to Aragones how stupid it is to have him sitting on the bench instead of Guiza! :groan:
