2008-2009 Turkish Cup match threads

First match, away to Ankaragucu. This has to be a match where Aragones gives some of the normal 11 a rest, and starts to build up some of the depth in the squad. If this works like it did for Zico 2 years ago, playing the youngsters could bring in some enthusiasm for the rest of the squad.

I'd like to see this lineup:

Can is pointless, because he has a very doubtful future. But with Onder hurt and Gokhan Gonul still needing some rest to fully recover from a foot injury, he may have to play. I think Emre is back in full training, same with Tumer. It might be nice to see Tumer get some minutes as there needs to be a CAM option to Alex, especially a Turkish option to avoid foreigner limit issues...

Yeah but Aziz Yildirim will fire a coach who wont win it I think the Turkish Cup is a way to generate more money towards Anadolu clubs. I hpe Fener play with their youngsters when we go to Kadikoy.

I hate that our Kupa has no meaning anymore, like here, the FA Cup is something special. Second biggest cup competition after the CL in the whole world. I wish it meant something for these sides to win it.

on ntvspor it says that some of the 'star' players arent going such as guiza and alex. also, emre is apparently out for another 10 days or so.

as for can arat...who knows maybe he'll find his form IF he ever gets a chance to play. the only person i've given up on is selcuk because even when he plays good, like against bursa, he manages to fukk it up somehow. there ought to be an IQ test implemented before singing for FB from now on. and that way neither ugur or selcuk or anyone like them would ever play again.

Selcuk has those eyes that even imply he's dumb. :howler:

it does, you get an automatic slot to the uefa cup. but cause the big 2 seem to win it as of late i guess it has no meaning maybe? but i'm certain that if the big clubs were to get eliminated, then the smaller teams would do their best to win. or if one of the big three isnt gonna finish in the top 5 , then they have to win the cup to go to uefa.

The TUrkish Cup is equivalent to the League cup in England, not FA

that's right. Thats how much i care about this waste of time and space cup.

Deivid should start to get match fitness, as with Wederson.

Apart from that, it should be a bunch of kids and players who are/should be reserves. That includes Kazum, Emre, Tümer, Gürhan, Can Arat be a footballer, Yasin and Deniz.

Tumer is a great player, he's the type that can change games around, I hope he picks up some good form and turns into a solid off the bench player...
