you should beat them easily, first game will be enough. Not that great of a team and you'll probably enjoy beating a "Croatian" team again  :D

there team is made up with some average Brazilians and Croatian league rejects, but then against Besiktas signed one last season! only joking ;)

The Croatian player is still with Besiktas. Because Turkish clubs can register only eight foreigners at a time, either Gordon or Seriç has to be released from the contract. In exchange of full one-year salary...

No need to joke about it. It is the truth.

Sad thing is I'd bet we're probably going to sign afew more rejects from your league in the comming years. :wallbang:

I thought Schildenfeld was released? at least that's what the Cro media reported.

As for Seric, he isn't a bad player, just he got into a dispute with Bilic that's why he is nowhere near the NT and in fact he won't be called up anymore

Shildenfeld signed for 2 years, or it may be 1.5 years. Anyway, he's not good and known to have the eye problem, which points to one thing: he won't go away. (BJK paid D.Zagreb €2m and his annual rate is said to be €1m. BJK's 08-09 season ticket sales will be wiped out by this man alone. :howler:)

I think Seriç is Croatian Fatih Akyel. Once good, but he lost it and never recovered.

The deadline for UEFA Cup's 2nd qual.rd. player registration is Aug.4th 24:00CET.

Kind of strange BJK's talking about not registering remaining Ibrahimler when they have only 16 players not exempt as "young & local". (A club can register up to 17 over-aged players then Player No.18-25 must be filled by the under-aged & locally-trained.)

(Well, the club already decided to sell the two. Just like they firmly decided to win the league title, to sell 10,000 kombine cards, to stay at/tear down Inonu, or to get rid of Gordon. No way back.)

From '08-09 UEFA Cup regulations:
17.02 Each club is responsible for submitting an A list of players (“List A”) and a B list of players (“List B”), duly signed, to its national association for verification, validation, signature and forwarding to UEFA.
17.05 Players must be duly registered with the national association concerned in accordance with the national association’s own rules and those of FIFA, notably the FIFA Regulations for the Status and Transfer of Players.
17.13 List A has to be submitted by the following fixed deadlines:
b) 4 August 2008 (24.00 CET): for all matches in the second qualifying round;
c) 1 September 2008 (24.00 CET): for all matches from the first round.
17.14 For the UEFA Cup first and second qualifying rounds, after the above-mentioned registration deadlines, one player on List A may be changed until 24.00 CET on the day before the relevant first-leg match, provided that the club’s national association confirms in writing that the new player is eligible to play at domestic level at this time.
Anthony Seriç signed with BJK, but hasn't been duly registered with the national association (TFF) because Schildenfeld is still under contract. He is not eligible for UEFA as of yet.

Full-fledged Shakhtar is 11th in their league (16 teams) after 7 rounds.

Viewing the match yesterday, we understand why most of Ukrainian teams WALK OVER them. (7 foreigners, all of CL caliber, demonstrating why they want to play elsewhere!!)

UEFA Cup 1st-Rd 1st-leg
Besiktas - Metalist Kharkiv (Sep.18, 20:30 TSI - Futbol Smart)

Metalist easily won 1-4 away to a 2nd-div team in Ukraine Cup this weekend (2 goals each by Devic and Coelho).

Holosko is expected to be fit for the match (whether having to risk him or not is another issue), so will be others who missed the TS tie.

BTW, in this Maraton article, the reporter allegedly quotes Saglam, then quotes his alleged thoughts. What's the heck?

Have you just started watching Turkish football? :)

20:30 BJK - Metalist (FutbolSmart)
21:00 Bellinzona - GS (ShowTV)
21:00 Kayseri - PSG (D Spor)

S&S doesn't offer FutbolSmart subscription. (The channel is full of international matches they don't have Internet rights to.) You have to buy PPV, if and when available.
Good luck finding free stream on the net. (Turks looking for one don't come here, usually.) It surely will be a double headache, being on a pay channel and overlapping with GS.
