I think our best bet is Steaua or Spartak ...and even then, they're pretty strong with good attacking players.

Sorry I misread warabee's post, I thought he implied we couldn't meet the ones with stars next to names. If so, FC Basel is the ticket into the group stages, Swiss teams aren't always great defensively and now Kalli isn't in charge so I doubt we'd have another shocker to another Swiss side. Swiss sides tend to love 5-1 thrashings at Ali Sami Yen also.

With the pace Arsenal have and the passes Fabregas threads through to Adebayor, I think we would have a tough time with Servet and Song at the back. If Servet plays like he can we'd be alright, but if he loses concentration, anyone of those players that attack from left, right flanks and the central role, including Fabregas and sometimes even Gilberto can definately score. However, sometimes Arsenal's classy football doesn't work ...I dunno if Galatasaray is the side to thwart that though? Hmm. I hope it doesn't happen.

We may not have the strongest squad, but for some reason I see us qualifying..

I hope that mentality takes over the squad and they qualify for an 11th or 12th successive time or whatever it would be if we did.

This is totally premature since GS can look very different by next August (new manager, perhaps no Arda, sure to be new signings, what will happen with Lincoln, etc.).

GS won't be seeded since their co-efficient has dipped a bit from the last few seasons. So there is a decent chance that they may draw a "big team" in the 3rd round qualifying.

There's an interesting statistics for us. We always passed CL preliminary rounds. Even when the opponent was Manchester United, we still got to the final stage.

However, most times, we were getting weak opponents (Mlada Boleslav, Levski Sofia, St Gallen...: no desire from me to offence these teams fans of course, but honestly they don't belong to the elite of European football.), because we were a seeded team. Now we aren't anymore, so we are likely to get a giant like Arsenal.

Provided all the favorite teams qualify in the first 2 preliminary rounds (those marked with **), we should get an opponent of this list :

None of these teams is easy to play... So, in any case, we will have a very difficult round.
