Looks like nobody wants promotion to the BL, Koln still in good shape despite going winless in three as both HSV and Union are winless in 5, its Paderborn now in good form who have jumped into third place. 2nd-5th is only separated by 4 points

Osnabruck promoted from the 3rd tier to play in the 2BL next season, they haven't been in the 2BL since the early part of the decade

Will be a wild finish to the 2BL, or as Derek Rae says the wild wild west. Firstly despite being top of the table, Koln sack Markus Anfang, seems that there was a disconnect between the players and him and he would have been gone even if Koln promote, which they should

Union Berlin beat HSV 3:0 at home and go ahead of them in the table, but now 2nd place is Paderborn who today practically ended Heidenheim's slim chances at promotion. With three matches to play:

Koln 59 (Furth A, Regensburg H, Magdeburg A)
Paderborn 54 (Bielefeld A, HSV H, Dynamo A)
Union 53 (Darmstadt A, Magdeburg H, Bochum A)
HSV 53 (Ingolstadt H, Paderborn A, Duisburg H)
Heidenheim 49 (Sandhausen H, Duisburg A, Ingolstadt H)

One win for Koln should be enough; Paderborn still play HSV in two weeks time, but beyond that the fixtures on paper don't look too difficult for any team

Paderborn, HSV and Heidenheim all lose so far, Heidenheim's loss practically ends any hope for top 3, HSV lost at home to relegation strugglers Ingolstadt and go to Paderborn next week. Union will go to 2nd tomorrow with a win over Darmstadt while Koln don't play until Monday, Koln only need a point with their superior GD to promote

Just like the BL this season the 2BL is becoming a shit show with nobody wanting to promote, Union Berlin lost to Darmstadt so all the promotion candidates lost this week with Koln still to play

At the bottom big wins for Ingolstadt and Duisburg; but like the BL the bottom 3 is practically known, only question who gets the playoff lifeline: Ingolstadt (32), Magdeburg (30), Duisburg (28)

HSV will stay another year in the 2BL after getting hammered at Paderborn

Paderborn in 2nd place on 57 points, Union who beat Magdeburg (game was postponed in the 88th minute due to some fan violence from the Magdeburg fans) on 56. Union go to Bochum while Paderborn go to Dresden which is always tricky

At the bottom both Duisburg and Magdeburg go down, playoff spot down to Ingolstadt (35) and Sandhausen (37). Ingolstadt away to Heidenheim while Sandhausen away to Regensburg

From the 3rd tier up comes Osnabruck and Karlsruher with Wehen Wiesbaden in the playoff. Energie Cottbus relegated on GD in what was essentially a H2H match with Braunschweig. Not too long ago they were in the BL for multiple seasons

Wild finish to the 2BL as the theme of not wanting promotion almost continued to the end :D Paderborn lost heavily at Dynamo Dresden so were simply relying on help from Bochum who played Union. Bochum took a 2:0 lead early in the 2nd half but they had a player sent off. Union scored twice in the final 10 minutes but a draw was not enough and Paderborn promote on GD. It will be their 2nd stint in the BL and its their 5th promotion/relegation in the past 6 seasons  Union will have to settle for a playoff spot against Stuttgart which starts Thursday

Ingolstadt will play Wiesbaden in the relegation playoff after they lost to Heidenheim but results didn't go their way even if they won

After losing the first leg at home 2:1, Wehen goes to Ingolstadt and wins 3:2, promoting to the 2BL on away goals. Pretty rare for both of the lower league teams to win their playoff. For Wehen they return to the 2BL for the first time in 11 seasons. Massive blow for Ingolstadt too, they have the financial resources to be doing much better than what they are achieving

Gotta say that was a huge fail by HSV not making it back into the Bundesliga after being in the top 3 for most of the season but there's no guarantee they wouldn't have spend another season in the Bundesliga being bottom feeders. Sad for Hecking to end up there after being treated unfairly at Mönchengladbach but he can probably do more for HSV than the likes of Labaddia, Stevens and such.
