What a weird set of results tonight..Bremen losing 3-0 AT home, Barca failing to beat the team they put 5 past, Chelsea, arguably the best team on earth, getting hammered by struggling Roma..and then there was our draw with Burdisso.

Maicon, Quaresma and Cambiasso, until our best CM is forced to play at CB, only players worthy of some praise

Maicon did more in the first half, though.

Quaresma was the reason we tied, he went on a solo run then got hacked, and from the resulting free kick we equalized. I don't think he was great, though. Couple of decent crosses and that decisive move..but I'll take that.

Well if we played like that in defence every week we'd be battling for relegation, that was just a freak show led by the only and only Nicolas 'Oops, I did it again' Burdisso.

Cordoba didn't play for god knows why.. and he's been flawless since his reuturn from injury.

We did see that not too long ago, and when both were out the duo of Heinze and Evra collided with each other to give Kaka a comical goal at OT.

And Rivas too was out, and he's 5 times the defender Burdisso is (well, so is any defender in the Egyptian 2nd division, alas..)

Burdisso was actually having a good season, sure he got dismissed in the derby but besides that I don't recall any errors, be it big or small ones. In many matches he looked solid. But tonight is just..unforgivable. Gresko material.

I must say this is a disappointing result and it is worrying how the defense is leaking goals.

We actually had 4 clean sheets in a row til the Reggina match. Inter can be inexplicable at times.

Champion's League is just strange this time around. Roma, who got bossed by both Inter and Juve, pumped Chelsea and Barca, who are starting to play some great football drew at home against Basel.

As long as we qualify in first spot I'm happy, I'm not going to read into these results to much.

Yeah many odd results this season.

Anyway, the Panathinaikos match is a must win to qualify and win the group without needing a result in Bremen next month. Though it makes my blood boil when I realize that this group could have been won tonight, with 2 matches to spare, had we beaten Anorthosis.. ugh.

Ok, here are the positives:

1. Cambiasso back. Let's hope the reports claiming that Maradona will exclude him from the Argie NT are true. :hopeful:
2. Burdisso is blacklisted by Jose, better he makes them errors now than later on in a more sensitive phase of the season. Some bench time to reflect.
3. Balotelli assists twice and scores one.
4. Quaresma played a part in salvaging a point with his ambitious run which led to the equalizer, although I still don't like his overall game. More active and involved than YM, at least.
5. We didn't lose.
6. Cruz scoring, which is good for him and the team. Mourinho has probably forgiven him now.
