Dinamo not playing so great since the arrival of Jovicevic, in fairness to him he didn't get a proper preparation period but they are struggling to break down teams and almost dropped points at home to Slaven midweek and today were held by Gorica. Osijek temporarily in 2nd place but Rijeka, Hajduk and Loko all play tomorrow (Hajduk going to Loko). Varazdin picking up form at the right time, 7 points from their last 3 matches beating Istra today, not quite safe yet but their next four fixtures are manageable on paper, though the final two games of the season for them are against Osijek and Dinamo. Inter in pretty much mission impossible now, they still have to play Dinamo, Rijeka, Loko and Hajduk and have to make up 5 points in the process, they do play Varazdin next week which is pretty much must win

Hajduk have looked poor as well. Dinamo had it in the bag so who knows what the motivation is. Rijeka have put in a bunch of young players. Dinamo at one and two this year:LOL:

Odd restart but who we kidding everything has been quite strange for months.

Looks like nobody wants 2nd place, Hajduk again labored but beat Slaven at home, Rijeka equally in awful form (winless in 4) lost at home to Gorica, Loko were held at Istra and Osijek play tomorrow at Dinamo; Lokomotiva have the easiest fixtures on paper though they tend to struggle against the bottom half sides, the other three all still play each other with Rijeka needing to go to both Hajduk and Osijek still + Dinamo at home

In the bottom half, Varazdin have won three in a row and should be safe, Istra got a point but will be disappointed as they played a 10-man Loko in the second half and missed some chances. Inter are all but down, they have lost 10 in a row and haven't scored in four games, looks like another relegation for Ero's favorite Zvezdas Tomo Ivkovic, though in fairness this and Rudes was a hopeless cause

And Hajduk are embarrassed by Gorica, the fans chanting Igrajte pičke, Tudor giving his usual interview blaming everything but his incompetence for the piss poor performances, he's a loser in any case. Lokosi just might hold on for a Euro berth.

2nd place is likely down to Loko and Osijek, Osijek have the harder fixtures on paper but they do host Loko on the final day. Hajduk still play all three of Dinamo, Osijek and Rijeka (two of them at home) but with the way they are playing they have little shot. Think Rijeka is done in terms of 2nd place, they have been equally as bad as Hajduk since the break but they have literally little pressure on them from the media, their only saving grace is winning the cup

Overall, not too optimistic about next season when it comes to Euro cups, even Dinamo look bad under Jovicevic who is basically Kruno Jurcic version 2.0 with his tactics, doesn't help that most of the clubs will be unseeded (Loko, Osijek and Hajduk for sure in the later rounds)

Loko scored two late goals to put pressure on both Hajduk-Osijek who play tomorrow, pretty much a must win for Hajduk, Osijek can afford a draw for now. Inter finally scored but they missed an absolute sitter minutes before Loko scored the eventual winner. Varazdin beat Slaven and they are practically safe

The promotion playoff draw was made a few days ago where the winners will play in next season's 2.HNL

Marsonia vs. Junak Sink
Mladost Petrinja vs. Opatija (Opatija will play their home match in Kantrida)

Jovicevic sacked, media speculating, Prosinecki's name being thrown about...Bjelica saying he would return if it were not for "some" people at Dinamo, apparently. All from the fakenews mainstream so take it with a handful of Paška Sol.

looks like Osijek will make the CL :)
Jumping the gun a bit there. They are in third place as of right now and have assured a european spot. They're only 1 point behind 2nd place Lokomotiva so they can still get the CL spot with 3 games to go.

3 games left. 2 of which should be easy wins. last one is the final for the 2nd spot

vs Istra
@ Varazdin
vs Lokomotiva

win all and we‘re in :)

Loko drop points, Osijek firm favorites for 2nd place now. Inter finally go down

In the promotion playoffs for next seasons 2.HNL, Junak beat Marsonia 2:0 in Sl. Brod while Mladost-Opatija played a scoreless draw. I actually watched the latter game on youtube and it was low quality, though some familiar faces on Opatija like Ivesa in goal and Weitzer

Dinamo lost to Hajduk at home, they actually took the lead with 10 men (Gojak was sent off) but Hajduk scored two late goals to secure the win. Does little for either side, Hajduk at best will be 4th, though Dinamo post Bjelica have been awful, maybe its a loss of motivation but their performances actually should give other teams hope next season if it continues

However I smell a Euro disaster in a few months, Dinamo if anything will be weaker (they will be forced to sell some players and will probably rely heavily on youngsters), Loko will lose half their team as usual, Osijek might improve but they are unseeded in most of the Euro rounds, Rijeka no longer have spending power, Hajduk no where near being competitive at any level and the atmosphere with Tudor in charge is poor

Varazdin continue their good form, beating Osijek, since the restart they have been the 2nd best team in the league based on points, will be interesting to see how they do next season, the problem is most of their squad isn't under contract for next season and a lot of their players are loans. One guy to look out for is their goalkeeper Nevistic, getting good reviews as one of the better goalkeepers in the league. He's on loan from Rijeka

Dinamo meanwhile continue to struggle, scoreless draw at Istra, probably a question of motivation but even if that was the case they haven't been this bad in a while, Kulenovic apparently is struggling, which sucks because he looked like a legit prospect at the U21 Euros last year

We're playing a few of our young guys as well which may add to the poor performances. Hope Kulenovic can find his form. He's still young.

Osijek and Lokomotiva gonna go all out. If they both draw and Rijeka win then they jump ahead to 2nd lol. I'd prefer Rijeka or Osijek to cme in 2nd. Lokomotiva actually did pretty well in Europe last time but they go through so much player turnover that you can't tell with them.
