finally?!
what do you guys think of this?AS Monaco FC have won the race to land Croatia defender Dario Šimić from AC Milan for an undisclosed fee, with the French club revealing that a two-year contract will be signed on Wednesday.
Agreement announced
The 32-year-old, capped a record 99 times by Croatia and a 1998 FIFA World Cup semi-finalist, is still to undergo a medical but the Ligue 1 side have already announced the deal for the versatile player, who had been linked to RCD Espanyol and Celtic FC. "After several weeks of negotiations, Monaco's directors and Milan's counterparts have reached an agreement for the transfer of Dario Šimić," a club statement read.
Honours
Šimić first moved to Italy with FC Internazionale Milano when he left NK Dinamo Zagreb after winning five league titles in 1998. But it was following his cross-town move four years later that he became a Serie A regular, helping the Rossoneri win the 2002/03 UEFA Champions League and Scudetto, then regaining the European title in 2006/07. Restricted to a handful of appearances last season, Šimić's arrival is welcome at Monaco, who had defenders Adriano and Leandro Cufré ruled out for six weeks after injuries in last weekend's opening Ligue 1 win against Paris Saint-Germain FC.
