Is 2018-2019 the worst serie A season ever?

You know all the elements which make the season bad:
1- Juventus exaggeratedly better than the opponents (but far from being the best Juventus ever in spite of CR7 )
2- Napoli pretty much have given up the challenge a few weeks ago
3- the worst Roma team of the past 20 maybe 30 seasons
4- Inter and Milan struggle to get the CL spot in spite of a very bad Roma
5- Lazio can't profit of the general mediocrity either
6- out of Atalanta no minor club looks able to profit of the general mediocrity

Nerazzurri4life April 9th, 2019 23:04

Weren't Roma risking relegation in 04-05, though? Worst Roma in 20-30 years, I dunno..

Los Che Forever April 9th, 2019 23:06

Yeah seems odd. They're 6th, 1 point off 4th.

They've had a lot of shit teams over the years.

You have to look at all the picture. The quality of the league is very poor so it's easier for a pretty bad team to win games nevertheless.

The quality of the league is some of the poorest I remember seeing. Even third is not a huge accomplishment in this season. Defensive quality has been on a downward curve in all the leagues imo and only a handful of teams in a league like Serie A having less than 1 goal allowed per game is not a good indicator.

I think the problem is that Juventus' reserve team is better than Inter's, Napoli's or any other Serie A team's first 11....

Costa---------------Kean------------------Cuadrado

--------------------Dybala----------------------------

--------Khedira----------------Can/Bentacur-------------

Spinazzola---------Barzagli-----Rugani------------De Sciglio

-------------------Perin--------------------------------------

This team would prob finish 2nd or 3rd in Serie A.

Until Inter, Milan and Napoli address that by buying or discovering players of the highest quality, Serie A will basically be as competitive as the Scottish Premier League...

This is quite striking indeed. Take away the current starters, upgrade on de Sciglio and Khedira and it's likely to win Scudetto on its own.

If Roma wasn't a "Selling" club....

El Shaarawy/Perotti - Dzeko - Salah
Pjanic - Nainggolan - Zaniolo
Emerson - Romagnoli/Rudiger - Manolas - Florenzi
Alisson

I'd easily take the Napoli team over the above team. Its just that with signing Ancelotti Napoli killed all chances of competing in the league.

Spal disagree..

Last season Napoli competed well til juve were given a push by the refs against Inter, tbf.

I think Serie A needs Conte or Mourinho at Inter

You forgot a little detail, they only got Zaniolo due to selling Nainggolan. Plus that midfield doesn't have a DM.

Could add Emerson there from a few years back, I rated him highly.

dr hackenbush April 14th, 2019 08:03

Benatia, Marquinhos, Lamela, Paredes. Probably forgot some.

Remove Nainggolan from that

Let's just hope Inter disagree.....

And Allegri put out a team with 2 youth players and Cuadrado in central midfield. That is asking for trouble.

Anyway, Juve losing is never a bad thing. Here's to many more before the season's out

Indestructible April 17th, 2019 16:59

Juve are the undisputed kings of the trash heap.

Thanks for officially coming out as the utter trash you are. Both figuratively and litterally in Napoli's case.

Primo April 20th, 2019 19:52

i would vote no, though it's bad

Demandred April 28th, 2019 21:34

I've only watched Roma games this season (and not all of them) and I am downright amazed we have a decent chance to reach Top 4 given how atrocious we have been. Not a good sign for the league quality.

Yashimi Nakitu April 28th, 2019 21:41

You couldn't have been worse than Milan. I am shocked we are/were still fighting for 4th.
