Being the best defender in Serie A is like being the best cricketer in the NBA, no one cares.

so
1) comparing leagues is so 2010

2) Villa may beat Atalanta if they meat, that is possible, of course, they may lose as well who knows and cares. But you know what is certain - a year and half ago Atalanta met Everton and beat them 8-1 in EL. The same season Atalanta finished 7th in serie a, Everton - 8th in EPL.

3) This year there 6 games betwen Italian and England teams in CL, 3 wins, 3 defeats.

4) Salah went from Italy to EPL, and is well established 2 years later. You may have heard of him. Then you have Alisson of course.

so here are your answers.

Rob I mean that's fine but not many of them manage in the premier league and even the championship has a lot of foreign managers, so I don't see what the relevance is.
Engin_10 What Nero is referring to is the fact that English/British coaches themselves are not up to par.
Rob I mean the vast majority of the coaches aren't English. If there's one thing I don't think you can accuse the PL of it's having shit managers.

Nero lol Koulibaly is a top centerback whether you like it or not, far superior to Maguire. Only reason he has not left Napoli yet is because they refuse to sell, and it's been well documented.

As for nonsense about Serie A, Cristiano Ronaldo preferred to come to Serie A rather than the EPL, that should tell you everything you need to know.

The only advantage the EPL has is more money, and that's the only thing that keeps it relevant. Terrible coaches, terrible two left-footed English players, the only redeeming thing about it is the foreign players who go there who raise the level of quality of the league.

And again, if they could get paid the same money in Italy, i'm sure they'd take the first flight to leave the UK.

May you keep spending 90m on mid level dross while being blind to getting real value on top quality options.

Good luck in EL.
This guy thinks I'm the fukin CEO of Manchester United.

The only dross we spent 90m on is Paul fukin Pogba. You had him as the best in the World in his position, based on him playing in your pathetic league. When in reality he has 1 good game in 4 and he's lazy asf.

Excellent?

But my bad, it was Pav who bigged him up the most, I may have gotten you confused (both clueless, never been to Allianz or Delle Alpi, both brown).

As for Darmian, he's utter garbanzo. Can't attack or defend, can't pass, can't run. Truly bad. So you can see why we're reluctant to spend 90m+ on Koulibaly.

Sincerely hope for your sake this entire post was troll job, if not I feel sad for you.

Nero lol, Darmian was never thought of as some high level prospect, he was a solid if unspectacular fullback that really most Italian teams were interested in only if they could get him for a discount deal. He's a decent player but no one thought he'd be a worldbeater or something, this is a bizarre charge you're making lol, i can't ever remember Osman raving about him.

As for top CBs, the truth is there aren't top ones out there, so i understand that Maguire's transfer is a reflection of that. I mean, Stones went for close to 50m, so i guess Maguire for 60m would be in line with that, still makes him terrible value but the market is what it is. Neither of them are close to world class.

I'm surprised Man Utd have not been more interested in De Ligt to be honest, if they are willing to spend this kind of money on Maguire. I guess they want to have more English players in the side.

But it's true, there is a great dearth of top CBs worldwide and especially in the EPL.

Be honest how often have you seen Maguire play? Watch many Leicester games? I don't know why you would because you think the standard of the PL is weak.

Shaw and AWB would have a field day in Serie A.

Manolas and Kouilibaly play in a vastly inferior league. They are not proven against good players week in week out. Apart from Juve's who are the top level attackers they have to outwit, regularly?

You actually listed your new defensive line and you are happy with it? Not a single top D amongst those 4 and it's a sense of pride for you? Couple promising young Ds or mid level players.

And you should care how much is spent, when you spend record sums but get medium level quality at best? I mean friggin Napoli has not much money but their defenders shit all over yours with Koulibaly and Manolas.

Koulibaly, that's someone you should spent the money on, not the english Acerbi...

Rob Probably, I don't see too many truly top class defenders worldwide when you compare it with ten years ago. In the PL Stones, Lindelof, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rudiger, Gomez, Diop are all good, but they all have weaknesses compared to the days when we had Vidic, Rio, Terry, King and Carvalho around.

I didnt diss him, said he is a promising player. But all he is so far until he shows himself in top level. What I consider Lindelof too, needs to show more.
