dpforever10 A lot of interest from Milan for Demiral. I don't mind sending him on a one year loan to Milan to gain experience and maybe we can also get an option on one or two of their most promising players as part of the deal....

spot on.

both united and city want him, so both rising his price gradually. so he will join who pays more $$

3) This year there 6 games betwen Italian and England teams in CL, 3 wins, 3 defeats.

4) Salah went from Italy to EPL, and is well established 2 years later. You may have heard of him. Then you have Alisson of course.

so here are your answers.
Let's see. I smell bull.

1. Well you're doing it now and it's 2019.

2. Ok so that year Everton clearly weren't trying at all in the Europa. They got 1 win from 6 and that was the last game in the group when they couldn't qualify. In the 5-1 game especially if you look at the lineups Everton only had 3 regular starters and Rooney in midfield. Everton haven't finished higher than 5th since 13/14 (11,11,7,8).

3. Seeing as we're talking about the best of the rest when it comes to Serie A it would be wrong to count United's loss to Juventus. So that's Inter and Napoli's last minute goals in the group stage for your defence. Hardly damning evidence.

Serie A teams haven't progressed from the QF in the 2 seasons since Juve lost another final. Last year we had 4 teams in European finals.

4. Salah was at Chelsea longer than in Serie A so I don't think he counts as an established player to come out of Italy. Allison is a GK not a player. He is also a product of Brazil not Italy.

Nice try. No wonder Fez didn't bother.

Being the best defender in Serie A is like being the best cricketer in the NBA, no one cares.

Rob I mean that's fine but not many of them manage in the premier league and even the championship has a lot of foreign managers, so I don't see what the relevance is.
July 16th, 2019 16:39
Engin_10 What Nero is referring to is the fact that English/British coaches themselves are not up to par.
July 16th, 2019 15:49
Rob I mean the vast majority of the coaches aren't English. If there's one thing I don't think you can accuse the PL of it's having shit managers.
July 16th, 2019 15:38
Nero lol Koulibaly is a top centerback whether you like it or not, far superior to Maguire. Only reason he has not left Napoli yet is because they refuse to sell, and it's been well documented.

As for nonsense about Serie A, Cristiano Ronaldo preferred to come to Serie A rather than the EPL, that should tell you everything you need to know.

The only advantage the EPL has is more money, and that's the only thing that keeps it relevant. Terrible coaches, terrible two left-footed English players, the only redeeming thing about it is the foreign players who go there who raise the level of quality of the league.

And again, if they could get paid the same money in Italy, i'm sure they'd take the first flight to leave the UK.

May you keep spending 90m on mid level dross while being blind to getting real value on top quality options.

Good luck in EL.
This guy thinks I'm the CEO of Manchester United.

The only dross we spent 90m on is Paul fukin Pogba. You had him as the best in the World in his position, based on him playing in your pathetic league. When in reality he has 1 good game in 4 and he's lazy asf.

Excellent?

But my bad, it was Pav who bigged him up the most, I may have gotten you confused (both clueless, never been to Allianz or Delle Alpi, both brown).

As for Darmian, he's utter garbanzo. Can't attack or defend, can't pass, can't run. Truly bad. So you can see why we're reluctant to spend 90m+ on Koulibaly.

Nero lol, Darmian was never thought of as some high level prospect, he was a solid if unspectacular fullback that really most Italian teams were interested in only if they could get him for a discount deal. He's a decent player but no one thought he'd be a worldbeater or something, this is a bizarre charge you're making lol, i can't ever remember Osman raving about him.

As for top CBs, the truth is there aren't top ones out there, so i understand that Maguire's transfer is a reflection of that. I mean, Stones went for close to 50m, so i guess Maguire for 60m would be in line with that, still makes him terrible value but the market is what it is. Neither of them are close to world class.

I'm surprised Man Utd have not been more interested in De Ligt to be honest, if they are willing to spend this kind of money on Maguire. I guess they want to have more English players in the side.

But it's true, there is a great dearth of top CBs worldwide and especially in the EPL.
