Poem: "The Winning Goal"

The Winning Goal

I scored a winning goal once;
It was joyful for many.
Fans applauded splendidly,
And tears, too, fell plenty.

It was a brilliant strike,
An out-bender at the least
That left the goalie stranded,
Shocked and startled, gazing east.

A driven ball meant to be
That worked out perfectly fine,
Swirling and curling in the
Air it bended in with guile.

With great velocity 'n flair
It sliced through the air swiftly.
How did you do that? They asked.
I could not give a reply.

Dazed and confused I too was;
A stunner it was for all.
Tears escaped my eyes for
I had scored the winning goal!

But those tears weren't blissful -
The clearance was miss-hit! :eekani:
It left the home crowd much pleased
As the own goal stood legit. :frownani:
