Goalkeeper Training

Alrighteo, I'm a keeper, and I was wondering if there were any others here and what you do for your pre-season/season training exercsies and fitness work etc.
We start in two weeks, I'm already rather fit, I can run for about 60-70 mins 'n im 15, so I don't think that's to bad. Our first few matches are often against teams where I often don't even touch the ball for the entire match, so I've got a little longer.
Any tips and the such would be appreciated.

I'm anything but a goalkeeper, but I can tell you that if you want to dive in one direction, you have to get plenty of leverage off the opposite foot. A lot of keepers have a weaker side that they have trouble diving to, and that's usually the problem

“to live is Christ and to die is gain” -Philippians 1:21

Christ came to pay a debt he didn't owe, because we owed a debt we couldn't pay.

I don't actually have much of a difference when it comes to diving, I've done plenty of full stretch dives either way, so that's no problemo for me.

Ok if theres anything Im a expert on its Goalkeeper Training

Ok firstly anyone can be a decent goalkeeper
Its all about becoming a perfectionist

You have to be dedicated in training because Training makes the goalkeeper,Not matches
Be fearless
Give 100% each training section

Goalkeepers have to become obsessed with having no weaknesses
You have to make sure you have hardly any

Never lose concentration in games

You can't effort to make mistakes
Because Goalkeepers mistakes means goals

Italians are naturally perfectionist in life
Look at their food fashion etc

Thats why they have a high standard of goalkeeping

Its all about become obsessed with being perfect
Never think good is enough

Alway aim higher and give it that much more

Do you have MSN messenger?
I can go through the technical aspects of the training with you

Yeah, i got MSN, [email protected] but I won't be one for a while 'cause i'm going out.

And as for being fearless, I always go for it if I can get it, often scaring the hell out of the spectators 'cause i end up in akward positions, but i'm always giving 100%.

OK I've added you

BTW Buffon first started playing in goal at age 15

You don't need much talent in goal
What matter is that you never stop working and improving your weaknesses and strenghs

Training and mentality is the key in Goalkeeping

When I play in goal, I have great reflexes and all the phisical stuff like strong hands etc. but I never know when and when not to come out, how to line up a wall or what to do in generally and technically to practise. Could you help me?

what really sucks is a goalie is when the ball hits a crevice especially in a cement court which micro is palyed on the games i usually play in and the ball moves in a very weird way sometimes its caused the ball to go right throught my legs

even the best goalies make mistakes thats also something you got to remember

being a goalie is not about not making mistakes its about learning from your mistakes and using those mistakes for good

heck that can be used for any posistion in football and life..

Isn't that how you learn how to make less mistakes? By learning from them and hopefully you learn most your mistakes in training.
