First half not yet over, and a stunning upset is in the making...

Brazil 2-0 Norway !!

Goals by Daniela and Rosana. According to the MatchCast, Norway is not in very good form today.

The first half was not good at all from Norway's side. We were lucky to even get a 2-1 score. The passes always went to the wrong person, and the players seem tired.

However, the second half, despite Norway being under 1-0(3-1 in the match), has been much more even, with Norway producing three healthy and clear chances. We didn't score though, and suddenly it was 3-1. We might score another goal, but it looks more and more like a loss now.

4-1 now, I'm going to bed, Brazil was the better team today, and deserved to win. :depress:

I am very sorry about Norway's loss, Anders.

But as you said, Brasil is one difficult team to beat and the players are getting stronger by each match. Honestly speaking, they are one of the few teams in this WC that value group play and not personal brilliance. That said, Katia and Marta shone like the largest planets in the universe tonight.

Brasil tops Group with 6 points.

i saw the spot lights of this match.
brazil seems to be a serious pretender. really impresive!
i'm watching right now france-north korea, pleasant match, the koreans play very well. still 0.0 at the 73th mn.
frankly, with the lack of efficience of french attack, i don't see how we could go through.
sorry for the loss of your squad anders.

Norway's first half against Brazil was maybe the weakest game I've ever seen by any football team ever. They did better in the second, but still..the first half was scary.

4-1 was a fair result based on chances and play.

Still, I kinda doubt Brazil will reach the semis.. their defense wasn't impressive at all and a more eager team could have produced a whole lot more chances to score than Norway did. Both Pettersen and Mellgren was able to outrun and get past the defense the few times they tried. USA or North Korea would most likely do much better than Norway did.
They had a lot of firepower though, especially Marta was impressive and Rosana was quite good as well. Didn't care too much about Formiga though, never seen a female footballplayer dive, film and whine as much as she did.

i don't think the norwegians shown their real way of play.
cause they were overclassed by brazil here.
i'm worred for my squad, IMO, this brazil squad will go far in this wc.
brazil and norway will go through this round. sure thing.

i saw the match last night as well, but most about it has already been said
Norway failed to keep the ball to themselves and Brazil has some great individual players, Katia and Marta yeah...

This is their whole strategy - to trick the referees into penalizing the oppnents. The Brazilian men do it, too (remember Rivaldo at the last WC?), but the women are much more blatant about it.

Anyone playing Brazil must hope to draw a savvy referee who won't tolerate that kind of nonsense.

Well, the other players weren't so obvious about it. They tried to win the duels, and play real attacks. Formiga just did her china doll impression time and time again. Her behaviour was a disgrace.
