Finally managed to watch my first game in this tournament! **** I hate my job.

The Malian #10 Sako looks like a handy left winger.

Both goals could have been avoided, naive defending really.

I dozed off a bit in the 2nd half... anyone else was bored with it or was I simply tired?

I didn't watch it. I was watching Martin Atkinson helping Chelsea to get a draw in Anfield in the League Cup.

Gervinho is suspended for two matches, meaning he will miss CIV's remaining group stage matches and can only return if CIV progress to the quarters

So Cameroon rescue a point late again after another below par performance. Yaya Toure is nowhere to be seen this tournament while Bony showed flashes today but was subbed off late. Mali's goal was a nice one, half volley by Sako

Ivory Coast could be in a bit of trouble, likely they will have to beat Cameroon in the final match, a team they struggled against in qualifying. They also will be without Gervinho (still) and Tiote who are both suspended

Renard was up to his antics again today, yelling like crazy on the sidelines and almost got into a confrontation with Kanon. I wonder if these antics are accepted by the more "star" players of Ivory Coast compared to the Zambian players in 2012

You almost feel ivory coast players want to return to their european clubs, and not spend more time in this tournament.
They been disappointing.

so what happens if the next set of games each end 1:1 and all four teams have 3 points with a 3:3 GD?

I assume lots will be drawn

can't believe the amount of 1-1 draws in this tournament. Fingers crossed for more open games in the final round of group games....well you can hope.

drawing of lots

last time I seen something like this happen was at the U20 World Cup a few years back but it was only used to determine who won the group, of course they don't televise it

What an awful way to be eliminated from a tournament.

Ivory Coast 1-0 now, so we're still on course for a pair of 1-1 draws.
