Kampala City Council won 2-0 in Sudan! Surprise result.

Also Royal Armed Forces of Morocco could only manage a 2-2 home draw

2 former continental winners on the verge of very early exits...

Hard to comment when the 1st leg was not aired in Egypt due to an issue with broadcast rights and I missed most of the 2nd leg because of an electricity cutoff..

Ekramy saved our ass like he did against Coton sport last year in a penalty shootout. It's worth mentioning that our goal was nice too

hyg

two good goals scored by African leftbacks that day, Asamoah for juve and Mo'awad for Ahly.

Thanks for the update. I think you got a good draw in the next round so you should be OK for the group stage.

The coach of Ahly Benghazi knows Ahly Cairo ( ) too well though - he's Egyptian and actually managed to beat Ahly before iirc when he coached in Egypt. Ahly Benghazi also have a very good Egyptian player in Ahmed Eid (he hates Ahly's guts) and former Dynamos and Hilal striker Edward Sadomba (one of the stars of the 2008 CAF CL) plays for them. A tie against a Libyan side will be tough.

You've lost 0-1 in the first leg. A tricky result to recover but not impossible. Did you watch the game?

I think Ahly are out btw, can't see the forward players of Benghazi not scoring, they are more experienced than those of Young Africans.

Ahmed Eid will practically be playing on his home pitch, Maks stadium, as he used to play for the Coast Guards team and they play there...

Well, you were right all the way. Your Ahly is out with a double loss against the Libyan Ahly.

Watched the match with the Mrs. at a restaurant. I think Ahly lost because she was forced to watch the match with me and she's not a football fan. I'm starting to think she has super powers, today the electricity cut off whilst I was watching a smoking hot chick in a short dress on tv...

Anyhow...

Zamalek on the other hand scored 5 well-played goals against Nkana earlier tonight.

I think one of the two Tunisians will end up taking the trophy home.

Really weird that Egyptian clubs won the Champions Cup/league 14 times, the Cup winners Cup on 7 occasions (iinm) but this one on 0 occasions.

It's the one African trophy missing from Ahly's cabinet so it would be stupid not to take it seriously. Big African clubs like Etoile Sahel and Asec Abidjan are taking part. No reason to take this lightly.

Hilal 1-0 Mazembe

Goal came from a free header.

Mazembe with 0 shots on target all match, they threatened but lacked accuracy. Tresor Mputu no longer plays for them, reckon that has a negative effect on the side as he's their captain - well, former captain..
