I followed the draw today and I knew we'll see you soon, but I didn't know it'll take you just under 10 hours to show up.. We're ready to rumble!

You should feel lucky though, you're between 3 North African clubs who'll completely ruin each other, they'll barely have energy left to play you

Sites:

http://www.ahlyegypt.com (official site, Arabic only)
http://filgoal.filbalad.com/english (currently the best Egyptian sports news source)
http://www.egyptiansoccer.com (best English forums)

There are many other Ahly sites, but they're all in Arabic (news wise), the forums are mixed:

http://www.el-ahly.com
http://www.ahly.com
http://www.ahlynews.com
http://www.ahlyplayers.com

You better start your work tomorrow, its Ahly - Zamalek

Hey Sabry my main man long time!! How's the going? I didn't know you were back on xtratime otherwise I would've cut short my exile earlier! Hey, thanks for the info. So tomorrow, it's Ahly V Zamalek? Whoa, what a coincidence. My Kotoko is playing those pu$$ies from Accra tomorrow too. I'm kinda of dissapointed we didn't get them in the CL. On the flip side, we can settle some old scores with both Ahly and JSK.

FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABUUUUUUUUUULOUUUUUUUUSSSS!!!!

Yeah, I don't post as often either.

I understand you guys tied with HOK 1-1? Just checked up on the forums, do you have a link to the goals.

We won, of course

Yeah, we drew with those punks  Sorry, I doubt we'll get a glimpse of those goals on the internet right now. Only folks who have a Ghana TV online subscription might have witnessed those goals on the internet.

Yes Valdano, whats going on? All the JSK stuff is in French:

www.jskabylie.org/forum
forum.dzfoot.com (in the first section)

I cant wait for the games to kick off! Ashanti coming to Alger: 90,000 fans all rocking the yellow and green, flares going off, its going to be crazy. Too bad I wont be in Alger this summer, I would love to watch those games.

PS. For Sfax, I would just hit up Tunisie-Foot.com. If anything they would have the link.

This group promises to be pretty exciting. Hopefully the football on show will be top notch.

We haven't lost a game in africa since April 04. be it home or away. The likes of USMA, Enyimba, Raja Casablanca, Etoile Sahel and Zamalek all failed to beat us. *...enough boasting for now* p

Still, I'm fully aware that playing away from home in this group will be hell, probably to a lesser extent in Sfax than in Kumasi and Algeris. The tunisians are more friendly i'd say...

How would you rate Kotoko's chances of progressing ? Who are your best players ? Any international players within your ranks ?

Here's a direct link to an Ahly forum where the CAF Champions league is being discussed. The vast majority there comprehend english, Valdano, so you'll have no problems in communicating.

Did Ahly have any problems when they played against USMA in Alger (last year CL)? How about Ghazl El Mahalla in Setif (last year ACL)? How about Zamalek against MCA in Alger? or Zamalek and Ahly in Blida (last year ACL)? Or ENNPI in Alger against MCA? No, no, no, no, no, ....

Stop with the insulting comments about Algiers and Kumasi. You Egyptians are not angels yourself.

pfft..

Cut the patriotic tripe, will ya ?

Saying that it will be difficult in Algeris and Kumasi is no insult. Both sets of fans are hostile and it will be very difficult to get a result there.

We're no angels, agreed.

But at least we didn't destroy Tunisia when we exited the African Nations Cup two years ago...

We didn't throw bottles full of piss on Algerian players...

The patriotic tripe, maybe you should read your comments first. I'm well aware of the incidents invovled with Algerian fans. I'm also well aware of what triggered this events (see how Algerians are treated in Tunisia). I'm just telling you, respect yourself and respect others. Tons of Egyptian clubs and national selections (Al Ahly, Zamalek, ENNPI, Ghazl El Mahalla, U17 national team, the entire Arab Games delegation, etc.) have travelled to Algeria in the last 2 years without a problem. Why not cite those as examples? Why not cite the fact that Algerians were cheering on Egypt in a handball match against Tunisia?

I have yet to meet an Egyptian that hasn't insulted Algeria or Algerians without realizing the love Algerians show to Egyptians at home. Its a shame really, to think that a fraction of the population (those that have stirred up problems at games) represent the true feelings of 35-plus million. In any case, I wish all the teams good luck in the CL.

Ahhh... What do you know, few days after the draw and we're already arguing. In the true spirit of an Egyptian Algerian derby.

Can you hold it for a few months though, the games haven't even begun yet.
