Your Socceroos WC2014 Team

With Ange announcing that captain Lucas Neill won't be selected for the WC, it got me a bit more excited about the Socceroos this summer.

Since we have qualified, Schwarzer and Holman have retired and Ognenovski is no longer in Ange's books. Other notable absentees from the last WC include Kewell, Culina, Emerton, Chipperfield and Grella have all left the scene whilst Bresciano is still lingering in and out of Socceroos squads these days.

Looking through the list of players who have recently played, its hard to name 23 players who deserve to be in Brazil next month (unlike some countries where you can name about 30 players who do).

I could only name a starting line-up and a few subs who i think should be included. I have gone with a mix of experience/tactics that will (hopefully) may even get us a point this summer or at least be competitive in games and guys who i think are the future of the NT.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Ryan

Wilkshire - Spiranovic - Williams - Davidson

Holland - Jedinak (C)

Leckie - Cahill - Oar

Rukavytsya

Subs: Langerak; Franjic, Wilkinson; Milligan, Sarota; Kennedy.

Im not.

As i said even 1 point from 3 games will be a success for this team.

The main idea is to be competitive and not lose by 3 or 4 goals.

Even the Turkish NT is better than that squad, now that's saying something.
