Quite possibly that and maybe some random other matches in Sydney, maybe even a Newcastle road trip just for the sake of the drive.

Wins for South Korea, Uzbekistan and China today. All finished 1-0.

Solid crowds btw - 12.5k at both the South Korea-Oman game in Canberra and the Saudi-China game in Brisbane whilst there was 12k in Sydney for the North Korea-Uzbekistan game

Great atmosphere last night in Melbourne for the Iran game - over 17k at the game

I had 2 persian mates fly down to go to it

Wonder what sort of a crowd will turn up for Japan-Palestine in Newcastle

4-0 tonight

We also got to witness this by Tomi Jurić:

In all honesty the Korea game was always going to be our first test so not jumping the gun yet

Korea have looked poor, though in fairness they had injuries/illness problems yesterday and made 7 changes, but really Kuwait deserved a point

The Bolton lad is possibly out, bit of a blow. They made 7 changes and still won, although Kuwait huffed and puffed South Korea could have killed them off (like their first game) but they don't seem to be clinical and stuff up a lot of good half-counters etc.

I didn't watch the Kuwait match but in the Oman game it looked they like were too reliant on Heung-Min Son to score or give an assist

Even when he wasn't in the best position they would pass the ball to him

just curious, am i the only one that finds it hard to classify and judge Cahill insofar how good he is?

what i mean, as a footballer i do not believe he holds a candle to Viduka and yet his scoring for Australia is pretty stunning... there are times when even basic skills seem beyond him and then he pulls off some magic in the box

hard to understand for me

Capello beamed: "From Savicevic you came to expect these unthinkable plays of brilliance, because from the position he was in most players would have just taken the ball in stride and gone a little further with it, instead he went for this spectacular attempt which has gone down in history and is shown over and over again. It was simply.... Una cosa da Savicevic [the way of Savicevic]."

Best ever player, but far from the most talented even of his own era.
