Most teams have 3-4 games to go in the season and playoff races are tight in both the east and the west as expected.

In the East, 5 teams have already clinched (Capitals, Flyers, Bruins, Penguins & Lightning) while 5 teams fight for the final three spots. The Canadiens are the cloest to doing it, I think one win will be enough. Sabres, Rangers, Hurricanes are fighting for realistically the 7th and 8th spots and they are separated by two points. Hard to believe the Rangers put themselves in this position, last week they were within shot of the 6th spot. Canes have played very well the past few weeks. Leafs have an outside chance, currently three points out but with three games to go, they need scoreboard help and they will probably have to win all three remaining games

1. Washington 79 103
2. Philadelphia 78 102
3. Boston 78 99

4. Pittsburgh 79 100
5. Tampa Bay 78 97

6. Montreal 79 91
7. Buffalo 78 88
8. NY Rangers 78 87
-----------------------
9. Carolina 78 86
10. Toronto 79 84
11. Atlanta 78 78
12. New Jersey 78 77
13. NY Islanders 79 72
14. Ottawa 79 70
15. Florida 79 70

In the west only three teams officially clinched (Canucks, Sharks, Red Wings) but they should be joined by the Kings, Coyotes and Predators in the next few days. Ducks, Blackhawks, Flames and Stars fighting for two places. Flames seem practically out because they only have two games left while despite the Stars being behind the Flames they have 4 games to go

1. Vancouver 79 113
2. San Jose 78 101
3. Detroit 78 100

4. Los Angeles 78 96
5. Phoenix 79 96
6. Nashville 79 95
7. Anaheim 78 93
8. Chicago 77 93
--------------------------
9. Calgary 79 89
10. Dallas 77 87
11. Minnesota 78 82
12. Columbus 78 81
13. St. Louis 78 80
14. Colorado 77 66
15. Edmonton 78 59

I think the race in the East is better, there are still two divisions up for grab and the race for 7th/8th should be interesting. In the west there are more teams involved in the race but pretty much the current top 8 should make it in my opinion
