It seems that the forum is not moving in spanish so I will start now discussion in English.

Let's talk about the Colombian U-21 team that has 4 points in 2 matches by beating 1-0 Ireland and drawing 2-2 against Portugal.

Late goal against ireland by stryker Tressor Moreno was amazing, he passed through the defense showing great skills and scored against a team that was clearly less than Colombia. The final result was too little, Colombia should score at least 2 or 3 more goals.

2 days after we face Portugal in a very tough match. The contitions were against us because the dirty referee, a penalty missed and playing shorthanded. But we achieve that late goal in a great free kick by Victoria bringing some justice to the game. Great draw speacking about the way it was achieved.

Look for key players in Colombia on forward Tressor Moreno, midfielder David Ferreira and Luis Chara and left winger Gustavo Victoria. Maybe any of them could stay in Europe from this point at on.

Any thoughts?

Didn't Colombia win this tournament last year? I recall something
about a final against Spain... ??

Anyway, there is a lot of potential in this team. Some players
will turn out to be great professionals. It just seems to me that
some guys leave their country too soon.

It's not just Colombia, we see this all over the world. These young
players have some great matches and then they are signed by a
foreign team. A lot off them can't cope with that which is expected
from them, and they come back with disappointments.

They should spend more time in their national leagues to mature,
before they make the jump "overseas".

Yes, Colombia won this tournament but it was against Argentina (we love to beat Argentina ) on PK'S

And you're right, Colombian youngsters must mature, but European teams must also don't waste their talents by "burning" them on benchs.

Colombia defended the title against Portugal in the final 1-1 (3-1)pen,in this friendly U-21 Tournament of Toulon France 2000.
It was a equal exiting Final too sad it got to deside by penaltys but the Colombian GK Botero saved two balls.

Colombia have also the best player of the tournament Moreno and he also scored most goals (5)

that's right Queso,
9-0 was an accident and was former coach Javier Alvarez's fault. He was overconfident thinking that Brazil couldn't score 6 goals to send us off from pre-olyimpic competition so he put the reserves saving starters for late games.

ZA FIDEL....CAN YOU explain the lack of soccer for brazil in the last 3 games in wc quals ?
0-0 in bogota
2-3 in brazil vs. ecua
0-1 in lima...vs. Peru

Can you explain, why Brazil was not invited to the HOPE of toulon tournament in the last 3 yrs?
over arrgentina and mexico in 98/99 and over costa de marfil and mexico in 2000. Sorry loser, follow your local MLS club and get exited about soccer, stop living on the past.
