[Group B] Paraguay vs Equador *Match Discussion*

With Brazil favorites to become first place in their group, Paraguay and Equador will be trying their best to qualify from this competitive group. With Paraguay having Barrios and Equador with Valencia this match could turn into an exciting one.

Paraguay seem to have more depth in their squad. I see them winning 2-0.

I actually see a suprise here.

Either a draw or an Equador win.. leaning towards 1-0 Equador.

Don't waste your time on jealously; sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind.

The race is long, and in the end - it's only with yourself.

I'm not expecting a great match in all honesty. Ecuador has regressed in the past few years and Paraguay, despite having some good attacking talent, usually play conservatively, I expect that tactic in the group opener

I think we're in for a surprise as this may be an entertaining game, at least compared to the first two games. Hoping Equador will pull this off, with the likes of Benitez and Valencia look for Equador to initiate the attacking flow. Paraguay though defense minded traditionally, I feel won't sit back on this one but will try to keep possesion and work from there. Should be a small scoreline. 1-0 for either team?

I think this will be a really good game. But in the end, Paraguay wins 2-1.

Wouldn't be surprised to see this one end goalless. Like HS said, Ecuador are not the same time they were a few years back and many people already know Paraguay plays a defense minded and conservative game so there may not even be many shots on target, let alone goals.

What a wasted chance Chucho Benitez had. He went past everyone in his path and instead of shooting the ball, he tried to round Villar and his touch made the ball move away from him. Should have scored.
