Question for you lovely people

Basically, I want to go to Colombia on the weekend of 15th May to watch Nacional against Tolima, just got a few queries first.

1 - Is it possible to just turn up at the stadium and purchase a ticket on the day.
2 - Do many people speak English? My Spanish is pretty woeful to be honest.
3 - How safe is Medellin, especially in the active city, not the rural areas.
4 - How much are the match tickets themselves? According to Football Manager, they're about Ł5 which is brilliant for me.

Good on you. Enjoy.

Never been there but some common sense answers.

1. Yes. Tolima is not a derby match so why not. Getting in will not be a problem. Nothing to worry about. Get the ticket when you fancy.

2. Not many at all. You will struggle on the street without Spanish but live with it and keep smiling. Whichever hotel you stay in will speak some English most probably on the front desk. If you want more out of your stay ask hotel to arrange an english speaking guide for you to show you around and get you acquainted with the city. Shouldn't be too expensive in relative terms to do this.

3. You can make it safe. You have a bit of street savvy from Liverpool? Use it double there Medellin is apparently much safer than it has been for many years past. There has been a clean up in that city in regards to crime. Still watch yourself. Like many big cities stay in central, where the majority are, don't go wandering off the main track.

4. Surely nothing to worry about. It will be cheap for a ticket. Inconsequential.

Good luck. Buy those guide books to Colombia and Medellin if you haven't done already and read them and re-read them until you become bored and it is ingrained in your head. Same on the internet. Google Medellin and read everything possible about the city before you go.
