Group C: USA-Paraguay

Surprised the game's almost at halftime and no thread.

1-1 at the moment, Roque Barreto for Paraguay and Ricardo Clark for the USA.

Nice set up on both goals, nice low, placed, shot from Clark on his goal.

Looks like a pretty even matchup so far.

Well, its the same problem we have with our A team. We are in desparate need of a goalscoring forward at the international level. We thought Johnson would be that, and could still be that, be we should by no means be pinning our hopes on him.

Paraguays goalkeeper man of the match till now ...

I wasn't really keen on this game, but while waiting for Argentina - Colombia it's a quite well warm-up

Yeah where's McBride? He is an old fashioned centre-forward who can put the ball in the net.

McBride retired from international football after the WC. He was rumored to be interested in a call-up for the Copa América, but that came to nothing.

I agree about Johnson, it just seems unreasonable that we should depend on him when he has only shown short bursts of goalscoring on the international scene.

Keller doesn't suck, there was not much he could have done about that goal. Paraguay moved the ball really well in the buildup to that goal.

EDIT: Also, anyone who's watching on TeleFutura in the States, who the heck was that woman standing next to the Colombia manager in the press conference?

Why honor the competition if even Brazil doesn't take it seriously? Also, know that it was impossible for us to call up all our players because clubs are not obligated to release American players for the Copa América, and few European clubs want to do that especially after having already released players for one tournament.

It's not an excuse bern, it's a reality and a fact. Some of these kids never donned a US shirt much played in a huge atmosphere. Plus, the US is not obligated to bring their A team since it was an invitation and Copa America organizers knew that from the get go.

Drew Moor has an open header five yards from goal and manages to head it straight to the keeper.

Bobadilla made a great save on Clark's shot before though.
