Venezuela vs. Peru

THIS is the moment of the truth. If you ask me, the great 2001-2004 generation of Venezuelan players is past their prime, but there is still that confidence in the team that Páez brought. This is THE chance to show what we have acieved in this sport with the whole Páez process. The bolivia game was aweful, but you can't help convincing me that there was not some government manipulation in hepling the bolivians (the quiet, almost dead crowd, the penalty that was not called, the excessively friendly atmosphere between the players, eva sitting next to the big monkey, etc.). Tomorrow (today, it's past midnight) we'll see if we have a future in building the football scenario in the years to follow.

Siete estrellas es más bonito.

Good luck to Venezuela. Win this game and you won't be going full-steam against a Uruguay who might just need one point. We could help each other out

Archundia is hands down the worst referee from the new world.

That was a clear red card no question about it... he elbowed him in the face and even though it wasn't the most vicious elbow the intend was there.

btw the field is real crappy and this is why they shouldn't be playing back to back games in the same stadium.

That they play in the same field is laughable.

Peru will get a tie I believe.

What a ****ing penalty that was.... !!!

The red card was good though. The referee was not good overall... but that penalty was just incredible. Pizarro got injured at that play!!!!

Great to see Venezuela finally win a Copa America game. I've read that it's been 40 years since last time. Hopefully they will make it through from the group stage.

They got BIG help though from not getting the most obvious pk y'll ever see against them. But Venezuela was better. Guerrerro missed way too much.
