Silva wants to hang up his boots after the World Cup.10/31/2000. Malaga's Uruguayan international forward Darío Silva has said that he will retire after the 2002 World Cup, despite the fact that his Malaga contract runs until 2004.
"My goal is the World Cup," said Silva. "Afterwards I will retire from football and dedicate myself to my family. I will leave behind the stadiums and the hotels, and I will return to Uruguay. My whole family is in South America."
Silva has been the star of the Malaga attack this season, and he scored a jaw-dropping goal against Zaragoza at the weekend.
Hmmm,he is not old enough to stop football.I like guys like him whose goal is not the money but something else, like a participation to the biggest competition, the World Cup.But is he sure that Uruguay will qualify?Anyway, this is his decision.
It would be good,Silva not to stop football as he is a good and with fantasy striker but it's his desicion.
Will Uruguay even qualify to the world cup? That is the question. Who cares if Silva retires in 2002, he plays in a ****ty team like Malaga and in a not-so-sure-to-qualify-to-the-world-cup-team like Uruguay. Couldn't care less.
