The Colombian journal El Tiempo chose the best 11 players and the best coach from the first part of the Southamerican qualifying to the 2002 World Cup. The dream team would have Oscar Cordoba (Colombia), Roberto Ayala (Argentina), Celso Ayala (Paraguay), Ivan Ramiro Cordoba (Colombia) and Javier Zanetti (Argentina); Pablo Garcia (Uruguay), Kily Gonzalez (Argentina), Rivaldo (Brazil) and Roberto Acuna (Paraguay); Gabriel Batistuta (Argentina) and Romario (Brazil). Coach: Marcelo Bielsa (Argentina).

Ofcourse they chose Oscar Cordoba since he is colombian. To me, the keeper should be Chilavert. He's not only insurance playing underneath the 3 posts but he's also a major threat on free kicks.

PS - Jose Luis showed the entire world that he's better than Oscar.

Hurrah for Paquador!

U just don't miss any chance to speack against us, do you??

Well, first of all is UNFAIR to measure how good is a keeper by the goals they score since that is NOT THEIR DUTY. So what El Tiempo did was to measure the fact by the most OBVIOUS, EASIEST and FAIR method and it was by the LESS GOALS ALLOWED.

So I don't know what do you understand by a good keeper but THERE IS NO DOUBT that Cordoba has been LESS BEATEN that Chilavert. Numbers don't lie.

The El tiempo team also lacks of a left winger and they have 3 central defenders. I should kick out Ceslo Ayala and bring in Roberto Carlos.

Mego, I have nothing against Cordoba as a matter of fact I think he's an outstanding keeper but so far Chilavert has been playing better than Oscar. Chilavert has 7 goals against (He didn't play against Argentina remember?) but they really should be 6 against (just like Cordoba) since one of them was an own goal. There goes your theory about the goals against.

I think it really came down to the last match between the two. Colombians marketed the whole thing as a battle between the two stars (putting their face on the tickets) and Chilavert won this so called "battle".

PS - I think the decision by that newspaper was biased that's all. I have nothing against you or your country.

Hurrah for Paquador!

I still don't understand, why it can't be a battle if the two are star keepers?. I think U don't need the quotation marks.
The fact that Chilavert won it doesn't mean that there was no battle at all. In fact I think it can be A WAR and Chilavert just won a battle but there are many remaining...
