Teams: SPAIN, VENEZUELA, REAL MADRID
Great Idea: Cup Of The Americas
Since tha Copa América has decreased in importance since the CONMEBOL qualifiers are played in one big group and has been reduced to being a training ground for young substitute players, and since the Gold Cup is even pointless and nobody watches it, it would be a sensitive idea to organize one big bicinfederational tournament called the Copa de las Américas. The winner of it would qualify to the Confederation's Cup as winner of its confederation and the team from the other confederation which has advanced the furthest in the competition will also be proclaimed the champion of its confederation and will therefore also go to the CC. The throphies of Champion of each confederation and of the biconfederational champions would be held in the same stadium after the final, with all of the involved teams present. The winner of the competition, logically, will be both biconfederational champions and champions of its confederation and will recieve two throphies. If two or more teams of the same confederation all go out at the same level of the competition and then no team of that confederation remains, then the champion of that confederation will be decided in a match between the two best of those teams (based on their tournament's points and goal average), which would be held the same day of the 3rd place match or inmediately before the final and will have its own ceremony.
Or you could forget about awarding 3 cups and instead awarding only 1, but still sending the other team to the CC.
8 teams from South America will qualify directly, based on the results of the last WC qualifying campaign. The 6 teams of the last CONCACAF hexagonal round will also be there. Perú, Bolivia and the rest of the Caribbean nations would play a short qualifying tournament in some Caribbean or Central American Nation or in Perú or up there in La Paz.
Or is this a bad idea?
Ideas for the future
