REPORT - ACUNA COULD SIGN
Chilean midfielder Clarence Acuna could sign for Arsenal this week after
Newcastle turned down the chance to sign him for Ł2-5m. He impressed on
trial in the north-east but boss Bobby Robson baulked at the fee. His
agent is quoted in The People as saying: "Newcastle have had their
chance, but I know Arsene is keen and he could be an Arsenal player by
Friday.

Is this the good number 8 El?

Narny/Beechy - Love talking, listening to opinions and sharing this great game we call football.

Acuna is really a very good player. He was one of the untouchables in the Chilean squad until he banned from FIFA for dopping in the match against Peru.

Happy to see him in Arsenal!!!

Well he'd definately been our most consistent player since the qualifiers until he got banned for a few months he was always in the team unlike other player!!

Robson is just a tight @ss since he cant even pay Ł2.5mil for a player which is worth more.........He could be the one to replace Manu, tho hes more of a centre mid and not as defensive but Arsenal already have Viera play deep so
He's probably not as good as Manu but definately a talent!!

I hope he goes.......La U are 2 good

I watched the U de Chile/P. Montt match this past saturday (BTW, La U won 2-0) and Clarence Acuńa came in a sub in the second half, his first appearance since the suspension. He looked totally out of sync so I dont know about this prompt buy from Arsenal. I hope he does well in England and that he doesnt end up like Rozental did.

PS - (Standings)

1) Universidad de Chile 36
2) Colo Colo 30
3) Cobreloa 29
4) Universidad Católica 28

La U is just too GD

Hurrah for Paquador!

the last time i heard this rumor it was only a rumor. I don't think it is true. The last time i saw him play at WC98, I almost threw up at all the chances he blew.

Still, I believe chile are a 3 man team: Margas, Salas, Zamarano

Of course the couple Salas-Zamorano is the top but Chile is not only them. There are so many other good Chileans inclunding Reyes,Tello,Pizarro,Estay...etc.Also Margas in the last matches doesn't start in the first eleven.

You know SPANIARD, you should really look up your information about South Amrican teams before you post here!! Like the time when you posted about Colombia needing to pick up thier pace since they arn'y going to qualify for the world cup

3 man team??? With Margas in it? Maybe if you had have watched Chile play in the last 2 years you will have noticed that Margas isn't even in the line up anymore and Reyes is our star defender!!

I don't think a 3 man team could beat Brazil 3-0........
