Libertad Easily the best Paraguayan team over the last 2 years have been unable to reproduce it's local results at the continental level. But this time they are going all out for the Libertadores. They have signed some very good players in addition to their very strong squad.
Justo Villar Best keeper in Paraguay
Francisco Arce Legendary right back
Guido Alvarenga Creative midfielder of several Libertadores campaigns.
Freddy Bareiro Paraguay U23 forward who has been Libertad best striker for the last couple of years
Carlos Bonet Paraguay NT midfielder with great work ethic

Deportes Tolima Provincial tean who was the surprise winner of the clausura tournament last year. Coach Luis Garcia former Colombia NT coach has done a terrific job with this team. They lost their best striker in Brasilian Rogerio Pereira. They have signed a few good players to strenghten their squad.
Segio Fernandez Paraguayan forward new signing for the Libertadores
Segio Martinez Uruguayan keeper also signed recently.
Ivan Velasquez Forward who returns to the team that made him famous.
Arley Dinas Strong central defender
Alex Comas Veteran striker

Well I guess I was wrong Libertad can't seem to play as well in continental play.

Final score: Libertad 0 - Deportes Toilima 0

This is an excellent result for the Colombians.

Deportes Tolima of Colombia held Paraguayan champions Libertad 0-0 in Asuncion in their group six opener after the home side's Paraguay World Cup defender Francisco Arce hit the post twice with trademark free kicks

Deportes Tolima 1 0 1 0 0:0 1
River Plate 0 0 0 0 0:0 0
Deportivo Táchira 0 0 0 0 0:0 0

Deportivo Tachira The most traditional of teams in Venezuela is making it's debut. It has one of the most feared strikers in Venezuela and a solid team mixed with youth and experience.

River Plate The Argentinians giants begin another Libertadores campaign with more questions than answers. the talent is obviously but will rookie coach Leonardo Astrada be able to get the best out of this talented squad. Also will the superstars finally stay healthy long enough to make a difference.
Marcelo Salas Legendary striker for River
Marcelo Gallardo Great offensive midfielder
Fernando Cavenaghi Talented goal scoring center forward
Luis Gonzalez Argie U23 Defensive Midfielder

Deportivo Tachira 0 - River Plate 0

The Venezuelans were the better team throughout and were unlucky not to win. Though Tachira did not play superbly, it just that River was very mediocre.

Deportes Tolima has a had a rough beginning of the season in Colombia. They lost their top players from last year surprise team. There are at least 14 new players in the team. They need to win this game to keep up.

Deportivo Tachira on the other hand has had a better begining in Venezuela. Though they did not win in their first game. They did played well and expect to show the same form against the Colombians.

Deportes Tolima 1 - Deportivo Tachira 1

Fair result in a boring game neither showed great form, but the Venezuelans certainly did not deserve to lose.

Final

River Plate 4 - Libertad 1

Another game that was way closer than what the score indicates. Libertad simply paid the price of very selfish formation in the 1st half.

Damn, we're good!!!

I must say that there was a moment in the beggining of the game in which I thought that River was going to bash us.

We're beginning to give big teams huge surprises at their homes.

Siete estrellas es más bonito.
